  • Mini or SKD

As far as I am concerned, our best backline (leaving aside the Braith to lock thing) has either Mini or SKD out due to the emergence of the exciting Kane Linnett.

    It is as follows:

    Carney
    Mini/SKD
    Linnett
    Graham
    Perrett

Interested in who Wallsters would dump. For mine, Mini has to go because SKD has more potential to improve but I don't think that is what will happen. Mini has been close to pathetic this season but politically it would not be good to chop him.

I'd dump Mini for SKD in the centres and put Graham on the wing.

    Chook.

SKD lets in too many tries on the wing. At least Graham has the experience by staying on his man and not coming in for intercepts.

The jury is still out on Linnet for me JT mun. I don't think Bennett would have let him go if he was such a gun. From all reports, his defense is shocking when exposed.

I'd rather be chasing a quality centre like GI or hope in hell that BJ or Blair mature quickly.

Before Mack posts a 12 ban backline, if its strictly a choice between the Moth and Skid, then Id stick with Skid. Mothra is finished. Skid is erratic, makes plenty of silly mistakes, but has shown some great football in patches. His age, and size, dictates that he is the safer bet. And I reckon with a year or two of good coaching (he's already improved with Smith there), he could well become one of our good, consistent key players. Sounds like Im mad, i know, but i reckon Skid is still very much a work in progress, where as Moth hasnt broken a tackle since Brother Roid dropped him on his head.

PS - I clicked teh wrong option, meant to send Mothra to the jets.

The head says Mini has to go, the heart says anyone else besides Mini!

Mini has been consistently our worst outside back all year. Has lost his spark and I can not see it coming back.

For all the crap that SKD dishes out, he also contributes in many positive ways (dangerous runner, makes good yards out of dummy half) and is still young and improving.

The only reservation I have is that (barring injuries) if Mini gets dropped, I can't see him getting back in firsts. I would hate for Mini to play out his career at the Jets. He certainly doesn't deserve that given his contribution to the Roosters over the years. Although this may seem like an overly sentimental reason to keep Mini in firsts, dropping Mini will certainly have an impact on player morale and culture. If blokes see a club champion treated poorly they are less likely to give their left one for the club....

Given this, I am glad this is Smiths decision and not mine! I don't think it will hurt Linnet to bide his time at the Jets in the immediate future. He has had a taste of firsts and will get further opportunities this year.

lol. What we've seen is what we're gonna get from the dumb one. Granted, Mini has failed to come back as the same player he once was (thanks to that grub Luke Macdougall) however I'd rather have a bloke who has "done it" rather than a nuffy who has shown nothing but brain explosions and has never "proved it"

              Minichiello> Safe option
Dumb> Option to keep going backwards.

I am no fan of SKD but he offers a lot more potential than Mini.

Mini is one of the worst players in the NRL at the moment.

SKD has the odd brain explosion for sure but he also does good things and has improved a lot from last season.

unlike others our club does have a heart, so i would not expect to see mini in newtown blue this season, look at what those grubs at soufs did to peachy playing him in Norths for his retirement game! were not like that never will be we care and we feel were human!

SKD should stay. Mini can't break the line and his passing game is attrocious. SKD can score a try and he's young. See ya Mini.
Also I like the look of BJ, I would have him and Linnett in the centres with Graham and SKD on the wing. Perret could go to the bench.

It's heartbreaking watching Mini at the moment. He is just awful and a prime example of someone playing that extra season too long.

No need to upset anyone. Drop them both!

Just remember to bring up mini for his final game in the RWB!

Any backline of mine would not have Carney at Fullback. The bottom line is we still have a few guys barely clinging to their spots. After the bye I have probably forgotten someone who should be there (not Anasta)

                          Perrett
Mini (just.. I have to be forgetting a better option)

I am happy to keep Min at the moment, he is still the best option at Fullback and I think as the season has progressed he has improved.
SKD is a centre and should stay there with Linnett and Pez and Graham should be on the wings.

Mini: sadly way passed his used by date. Will always be seen as a roosters legend.

SKD: average first-grader, who with better coaching, could turn out ok in another 12 months. More 'rocks' than 'diamonds' at the moment.

                              So SKD wins by default.

With Williamson gone, Linnet seems like our great white hope to partner SKD in the centres. And Towers deserves a long awaited crack at first grade.

                              Crikey.
