It's sad that this great player is now officially a has-been. In fact, he is a manifestation of the term "has-been".
I think that people's expectations of the bloke are far too high, and that he's fast becoming, like SKD is, and FPN used to be, a scapegoat for the team's lesser performances.

He'll never be what he was in 2005, but he's still far and away our best option at the back.

It's repeatedly ignored, because people like focusing on one minute moment of the game, but for the majority of the Warriors' kicks, especially in the first half, Minichiello took balls on the full and put us on the front foot to start our sets.

Yeah because rather than playing our HOME game at the SFS (where the weather was perfect) we went to bloody New Zealand to play the Warriors!! Why do we keep doing this? Newcastle at Bluetongue... Warriors in NZ... we need to win games... why nullify our home advantage by giving our opponents a free game? They'd never do it for us...

What home ground advantage? Since when do we perform better at home compared to away games?

So are they, if they think he lost us the game.

he contributed massively to the loss

                    and is finished

watching him run the ball back and get rag-dolled or picked up and carried backwards every set is embarrassing

and he owns the worst hands of any fullback in NRL history

Three things contributed to the loss.

                      Ward: blind ****.

Luck: we had none of it.

Graham: could have saved three tries, if he wasn't so rubbish.

Minichiello, on the other hand, got us on the front foot for a majority of our sets, had great positioning, and actually looks good chasing through chip and chases, or hitting inside balls around the rucks.

I agree, he needs to work on his kick returns, especially in regards to his wrestle in the tackle, because he does get driven back a lot of the time. However, he took a lot of balls on the full, and made over 130 metres, which is not bad by any means.

Needs to work on his kick returns? That's like saying Stevie Wonder needs to work on his reading!
