With a bit of talent but nothing more than an impact player... he'll just be sitting behind Friend the whole time he's here anyway.

This is one signing I'd be happy to miss out on.

          behind Friend?

as things stand, Watts is a much better player than Friend, and in a different league altogether to Jaubs.

but on the downside in terms of Roosters signings, he is quite young, and relatively cheap

Much better player based on what? At 23 finally putting in some good performances off the bench? Haha please, Friend is exceptionally good for his age keeping in mind he could still be playing 20's. I'm happy for him to be our long term option and when he's fully fit again playing the 80 minutes because it's when he does his best work. Jake will turn out to be 10 times the player Watts is and the upside being he's 4 years his junior.

              I couldn't agree more R6.
I have always and still rate Jake highly in fact, even more so since returning to first grade. His fitness is improving, he always provides excellent service from dummy half (unlike JAubs wayward passes) & is in the Bonnetti mould in defence. Coach Smith is a fan as well.
IMO, Jake & Watts' style of play will compliment our team.

If it's true, it's a rubbish signing. He'll continue the passenger trend.

Watts will compliment Jake. Two different players, and can be lethal if used properly.
Brunton is a few years off and Foran at the moment is nothing but depth.

James Aubusson looks like he will get squeezed out unless he tries himself at lock.

Watts is a grub and an average player at best. Besides way too ugly to play for the chooks!!

The problem with Easts is exactly what you suggest - buy rubbish at all costs. Do we even need him? Can he run the 100 in 10 flat and play centre? Thats what we need not Riddell.

He can snort 10 lines in 10

But neither could Watts... I'd prefer we stuck with Brunton or Samuela. but Piggy would be a better buy than Watts..

Brunton still needs a few years mate. He is talented, but way too raw and undersized.

Samuela can barely hold down a bench position in the twenties.

I don't know what you have against Watts. Yes, he may be a ****wit, but to suggest that he is just less than an average player is ludicrous.

I'll put a lazy 10 on you warming to him as a player when he gets here.

He is a player who will do anything to win, the more of these players we have here, the better. We are building an aggressive and passionate team for the future, and Watts would be the perfect addition.

Who cares if he is a ****wit or grub.

He is paid to play football, not be a good bloke.
