So the rooster maniacs keep the record going WLWLWLW etc.
We sacrifised a lot of possession to win this game but last weeks form showed us that we should win today and the killer punch has been lacking.
Pleased with most of the blokes but I think Grahams days are numbered and Anasta to a lesser extent.Mini's defence is ok but he is still lack luster in attack just not enthused in his old manner, needs a kick in the ass and start backing up more.
They tried to smash us and came of second best.

Mr Magoo-5- Sound game did well enough in defence to keep us in the game ,he needs to throw the walking stick and start running.

Flip Graham-2- nearly bought tears to my eyes almost made a break ,certainly will win a premiership with Newtown.

SKDidbetter-6 couldve got an eight ,made a few little errors but played pretty good in my books. If he can get consistant and not be scared of the ants in the grass he could be a match winner.

Kane and Abel- 4- didnt sight him much didnt get much ball from Hog anasta but the one time he laid on the ol' turtle sprint champion Anasta was on too **** it up.

Slamin Sam Perret -7- Top game was in every thing and onto the ball where ever it was cant complain ...just maybe he has got his spark back

Goofo- 2- I dont know what it is with Bwaif he was great for two years and now seems to be in the way-needs time and play off the bench is the best for him - we lack a captain that can give us the killer punch in games and I am willing to give Pearce a crack at it although still young between the ears.

Angry Anderson-8- The Tattooed Carney was great for most of the game and when he runs he is damaging that intercept -you could see that was gonna happen - welcome back to form stay away from Friend

The wrecking ball- 7- not so much ,more a consistant player of value that is doing his job well .I tipped this bloke four years ago to be a champ and he is nearly there.Got some good offloads-good player FPN

Facelift- 8- you know I love the good Aubo his runs are quality and his defence is up there .stick that up ya Trewhells.

Morely's Shadow JWH- 6- his hits and defence has been pretty good but his attack and metres is lack luster maybe intentional by the coach -defend fo us while the regulars are tiring out. I wouldnt mind seeing him start a match with more game time.

Pyles--7- hasnt let us down and has been super consistant still waiting for him to explode it will come against Souffs I hope

Rap sheet--6- Jake played a bit better today .If he would stop ****ing up in life and keep his mind on the job he could be a great player.

MR T- 8 - for 40 minutes again has awsome stats and keeps on getting better hope the fire burns a while with this bloke is slowly becoming a crowd pleaser put on some real good defence in the last 20 m which is what we needed.

Bob O' reilly-- 6- thought he was a target for the raiders and came through it with flying colours did good enough to get my vote of assurance .The Dead Kennedy's are back.he reminds me of the Bear

    lollitaLuili - 4- was ok

Bloodnut- 4- same ,ok but not his usual self hopefully will start next week its what he needs our only local Jr too

Koupdeville- 2- leave me alone I have a headache now

Carnage gets my vote as player of the match
Hey who was the Roosters bloke with the Welcome to the Rooster Dugan .. sign ?

The Souffs game on friday is a big game but we are also depending a few to back up 2 days after Origin ..I think they can do it our form is good and besides I hate those toothless pricks .WLWLWLWLWLW ?

      "rap sheet" - LMAO

The go forward was great whilst Masoe and Ryles were on the field but dropped noticeably when both were off - JWH just does not do enough in that regard.
FPN was solid today and I believe he didn't make a mistake unlike Mini who is starting to irritate me along with Graham.

A VERY well done today Roosters, now let's see how you go against souffs.

LR i was saying the same thing to my wife, there were about 4-5 sets where we barley made our 30 meters in 5 tackles. That was around the time that Mose, Ryles and FPN were Off the field !!!

Ive been saying for a few weeks...that the one thing Smith hasnt got right is the bench .His timing and use of it has cost us but I guess he is learning from the players growth in his team and will all come together in time.

It's looking clearer by the week why Manly used him among their second row rotation.......he's just not a prop. If we didn't have a plethora of wide running second rowers I'd suggest he drop a few kgs, work on his speed during the offseason and place him one in from the centres and let him run riot......but geez - we don't need another one of those players tbh.

              We were terrible
              They were worse at finishing.

              Our go forward was shocking!!!

disagree regarding JWH. his form at teh moment is a little below par and i conceed that he isnt quite providing the go forward we expect from him but i think this has been impacted by the way he has been in and out of the team due to injury and also has been playing injured which is stunting any consistency and progress. He is not one to worry about and will show his true colours in time.

As for the balance of the bench, i tend to agree. Id like to see:
                8. Myles
                9. Friend
                10. Ryles
                11. FPN
                12. Maubs
                13. Anasta

                14. Masoe
                15. JWH
                16. Leilua/Symonds/Cherro
                17. Jones/Jaubs

Masoe should play from the bench imo and even next year id like to see FPN or myles at lock with the other at prop to work the middle of the ruck with ryles as the other starting prop with masoe and jwh off the bench - both can play and have played on the edges in lower grader, both aggressive and powerful ballrunners and defenders and both definitely add something off the bench.

same as last week really but our defence was pretty good unlike last week and other losses they didnt give in so ill give em credit for that.
we were close to scoring a few more .Smithy has a few tough calls to make soon.

The tough calls have been there to make the last month. Do you really think he will make the tough call?

People have him as some sort of coach who cuts at will. The player he cut from Newcastle were middle tier players at best. Yes they had been at the club for a while.

Do you really think he will make the toughest decision that needs to be made at our club?

Smithy isn't up to cutting the captain.

Anasta's form is far below his best, obviously.

But what sense would there be in dropping him? His form is nowhere near poor enough to warrant being dropped! That's just delusional.

In my opinion what Smith has been doing so far this year is building rather than cutting. A few players have come up (Mose, Linnett, Luilia (sp?) etc) and a few players have been sent down (Jaubs, Lopini). A bunch of players have also greatly improved this year (FPN, SKD) and very few have gone backwards. Anasta and Mini are part of Smith's mix. He needs experience and youngsters and building a successful team is a process.

A professional RL team has quite a bit of complexity - that's why the coaches get the big bucks and we wax lyrical on Internet forums.

Anasta looks mentally worn maybe physically too -I dont know but at worst playing from the bench for a few weeks may help
The tough call Im thinking is Phil the Dill.
Coaches are persistant though compared to us armchair critics so its up to him. I think Smithy is going well -so Im not fussed.
