  • Injury Worries

looks like Graham,Anasta and Masoe picked up injuries in yesterdays win.

Graham - hamstring and ankle ligament, highly doubtful for friday night, if this is the case would like to see Leilua to the centres and Linnett onto the wing.

Anasta - sternum injury from a stray elbow yesterday, if Pearce makes it through the Origin, no great concerns if he misses out.

Masoe - knee injury, hopefully not to serious, but a concern given his previous problems, if out Myles will just slot back into the team.

if graham out could be the opportunity to blood towers or even kherillah. Its a massive game so would be a big risk but imo, so long as we carry symonds and/or leilua on the bench who can slide into the centres if he isnt playing well then we are fine.

Kheirallah tore his hamstring at training on thursday and is out for around a month he obviously didn't play NYC yesterday.

      at best guess :

      - if Anasta is fit Carney will go back to fullback and Mini onto the wing

      - if Anasta is also out Jones to the Centre's or Fullback with either Linnett or Mini to the wing.

Graham and Anasta can be covered. Masoe will be a big loss. We need every big boppa we can get against the bunnies pack. Hopefully it is only a minor niggle.

No way. Souffs have big centres and it would be suicidal to play him there.

Give a youngster a start on the wing. Keep Linett in the centres, he has donew well there.

I agree but the simple fact is we have no other wingers to choose from Naughton,Moeakiola and Kheirallah are all currently injured and no one else in the lower grades is remotely capable of stepping up, if you want to have size in the centres it has to be either Leilua,Maubs or Symonds with Linnett on the wing, certainly not the ideal situation but given the fact Williamson walked out on the club we don't have much of a choice.

Although he would be out of position, I would rather see Lealui in the centres rather than Jones. Blooding Towers on the wing inside Linnet would not be a good idea given their combined level of experience.

Can't see this happening after the way Pearce/Carney played against the Warriors. It will be a massive backward step.

I think Leilua will slip into the centre position if Graham is out and probably interchange with Symonds. Anasta will play lock as per the Warriors team selection before he got "injured".

Anasta will play anyway. He has played most of the season with some sort of niggle.

Are you sure Graham has a hamstring injury? Was reported as being a cork.

The Sydney Roosters are sweating on the fitness of three players ahead of the local derby against South Sydney Rabbitohs at the Sydney Football Stadium in five days time.

Phil Graham is the player most in doubt with an ankle ligament strain sustained during the game, after he also aggravated his hamstring in the warm-up before the win in Canberra.

Roosters captain Braith Anasta left the field with a sternum injury at fulltime and Mose Masoe picked up a knee injury but both are expected to play on Friday night.

The Roosters will be hopeful representative duo Mitchell Pearce and Nate Myles can backup less than 48 hours after their involvement in State of Origin game III for the keenly contested rivalry.

I think you will find Leilua also did a hamstring yesterday , he hobbled off after 30 mins or so. Looks like its Symonds will get the gig.

While I think Champion especially is doing a good job for them, I hardly think he and Best are big centres. They might be tall they aren't big.

i do agree that we need the best defensive options in the centres against Souffs.

The big defensive job for the centres will be making important tackles on Taylor and Burgess moreso than their opposite men.

If we played Jones, at least Pearce and Carney would be fresh for attack. Jones would be the target for the big boppers rather than our halves!

If Jones had to mark up against Best, Best would be able to offload everytime. Plus Best would be a massive target for their kickers. He wouldn't even have to jump to get over Jones.
