There was no mention of Friend's try so I assume everyone agreed it was ok. I was sure Symonds turned to face our goal line and the ball travelled backwards.

Originally posted by fletch View Postthe same thing happens every week with the de-briefs, they find a tonne of wrong decisions and none of them ever get dropped its rediculous, nothing will be done until someone loses a Grand Final as a result of a dud call.
BTW, BOD should not apply just because the referee is not ABSOLUTELY sure that it was not a no-try. It needs to be that on balance of probability it's a try. The Canberra one and the Warriors one were never in that category.
The refereeing system is a joke and needs to be fixed. Finch first!!

Smith fined $5000 over comments
THE Sydney Roosters have been issued with a $5,000 breach notice over comments coach Brian Smith allegedly made to referees at halftime in the NRL club's win over Canberra on Sunday.
The league says Smith directed comments on the penalty count to whistleblowers Ben Cummins and Tony De Las Heras during the break in the Canberra Stadium match, won 22-12 by the Roosters.
"Reports from the referees and the ground manager confirmed the comments were directed against the officials as they walked towards their change room and related to the penalty count in the match,'' the NRL said in a statement.
The league said clubs had been warned in May after a number of incidents where club officials had gone close to breaching the rules relating to match officials.
"We can't have a situation where coaches or club officials make comments to referees on game day, particularly when the match is still in progress,'' NRL chief operating officer Graham Annesley said.
"There are plenty of opportunities for clubs to voice their disagreement with refereeing decisions but the time to pursue these is not when emotions take over at a match.''

Those images of Smithy banging on the glass and yelling "1 f..king penalty" are priceless.
I only wish they used the money they get from fines to actually improving the standard of refereeing. The lack of consistency this season between games has been absolutely appalling. What's a try or a penalty in one game is a no try and no penalty in another. And that's on the same weekend.
As for the video refs, I don't know what rule books they're working from but they sure as shit aint all working from the same one. Some are making up their own rules each week.
NCSupporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.
