With the news being 'shed' today that at least 10 Storm players are going to have to part terms with the club, I think this bloke would be a gem.

Was picked to play for England after only 2 first grade games. Looks to be a great little player, and possibly a long term fullback option for us, if we decide to pursue him.

    Thoughts?

good call. id like to see towers get a game first/see young te kiri have a couple of games at NYC before we sign yet another fullback but i see signing someone like widdop, gardner, locke, hopoate as much smarter than say massive bucks on dugan. All of them have shown that they could be amazing at first grade level but none of them would boast the ridiculous price tag at least yet. definitely worth considering imo but like i said, lets give what we've got a go first because on raw ability, towers and te kiri in particular could be just as good if not better and they are direct products of our system. Id hate to see another tamou/JWH thing occur (ie we let go one of our best young frontrowers in tamou and essentially replace him with one of the best young frontrowers going around in JWH only to see them both excel pretty equally atm at least - not complaining about having JWH but it would have been nice to have kept tamou from the get go and see a local product of our system excel instead of a young product of someone elses but only a minor thing really)

EDIT: Considering the storm are in such a poor bargaining position id prefer we went for guys like young o'neil, duffie and widdop instead of the real big guns. All three have shown stacks of potential at the top level and wouldnt look out of place in anyones side. Others include young chase stanley and even anthony quinn as an experienced option to have on the wing if we get rid of graham....

Widdop is on loan at Huddersfield until 2011, he'll return to the Storm in 2012 which is the final year of his contract.

I don't think there's much of a possibility that we will be signing him.

He reminds me abit of Billy Slater but looks a whole lot tougher would be a great asset to the club

Whilst Slater can be a little grub, he certainly plays the game tough for his size.

He'd look splendid in a Bears jersey.

We might have to move Stephen Hawking into the second row to accommodate him though.
