There seems to be a rumour doing the rounds that we are after Billy Slater. Not sure whether it is true but it would make sense (because for some reason Dugan pulled the pin or we pulled the pin on him).

Oh Tobin, he is sensational, and would bring a huge amount to the team, especially on the training field.

PTB, I think Inglis is not even close to the best player, Thurston for example is streets ahead of him. The Inglis thing is a media beat up. He is a terriffic player but not the best.

Well he did live in the eastern suburbs for a few years while riding track work for Gai Waterhouse.

You couldn't say no really. Still has about 3 good years left.

Slater wins more games for both Melbourne and QLD than either Inglis or Cameron Smith. So often his class is the difference between a win and a loss.

Personally Inglis does not get involved enough for me. He often looks disinterested unless some piece of media fires him up for a big game.

I would have Slater in a heartbeat, but it will always come at a price. Who would we lose to accomodate him? We have been developping a number of players who really look to be stepping up. How many such players would we be to lose to sign Slater?

He would be a great asset to the club but i dont want to have to shed a few players in order to get him.

If this would be the case and hes asking for a alot **** that lets go after gardner or coote both would be less than slater

Jaubs is probably on $150K too.
