It was always going to. Reminded me of the Bennett situation although a lot more drawn out.

Some Rooster fans couldn't stop gloating, talking about it everywhere on radio, forums, in the pub etc etc.... Just imagine the pressure Dugan wuold've been under from his team mates, administration, friends & media with questions and peer pressure to do the 'right thing'. Would you spend another year and a half at the club having this continually follow you around? I honestly believe that we (Rooster fans) & the media are the reason why he has signed a 1 year contract extension.

i couldn't care less. Let him stay in Canberra. To pay such overs for a young kid would be devastating and would throw off the balance of the team.

Another young talent will come soon enough.

It is funny though seeing another team pay such overs for a player being chased by us. Good to be on the other side of the fence for once.

"Overs"? We don't even know what figures were discussed.

                Since when are you "we?"

CANBERRA'S upset win over the Warriors in Auckland was overshadowed by renewed claims boom fullback Josh Dugan has agreed to join the Sydney Roosters in 2012.

The claim was made on Sydney radio yesterday, prompting the club's chief executive Steve Noyce to issue an outright denial - one of several his club has made in recent weeks.

The Raiders have had suspicions Dugan, who was yesterday named as the Country fullback, is being wooed by the Roosters and yesterday's claims will only increase the enmity between the clubs. Dugan is off contract at the end of next season and has declined a lucrative extension with the club which would have earned him more than $400,000 in return for a further one-year commitment. Dugan told the club and his management he wanted to back himself.

It was the Canberra Raiders themselves crying this amount when they were sooking we were chasing him. They went on to threaten they would make sure Schubert looked into the deal amount ,not the media.

How would the Raiders know what the Roosters "offer" was?

They don`t if their comments are anything to go by.
I was talking about the offer the Faiders made to Dugan that he rejected, which is the amount Canberra then splurted out when they were crying about us poaching him.The amount they stated was 400k for one season, which is way overs for him...

Me thinks there is 1 very worried manager.
Manager delivers Dugan to the Chooks, everyone happy, except Raiders.
                            Something goes awry.
Nick calls manager and says something like "if you backtrack on this deal, we will never deal with you again"
Manager calls his doctor for a script of Temazepam

Canberra would of spent half his cap to sign him, judging by their comments in the media about how important he is. I'm sure the cash for offer was quite large.

supervision of club accounts is exactly that - overseeing the overall financial position of a club is a board responsibility

being directly involved in negotiations with individual players and player managers is not

Roosters fans generally can't understand this because Politis calling all the shots is all most of them know
                                My goodness you are puppet.
