  • One at a time...again

    Lots of talk.

    About contenders.

    About best halves.

About new Rickos and new Fittlers.

About tackle busts, leading try assists and other meaningless stats.

About stats that set you up for a massive let down.

    Bollocks.

Real contenders do fight the full 80. We are showing that.

Real shots, hit as hard off the ricochette as they do staight out of the barrel. We are fighting hard.

Real shots DO NOT leak 30 points against cellar dwellars.

Real shots have strength in defense that is mirrored across the field.

Once again, in true Roosters fashion, we are jumping way ahead and way over the watermark. Without a snorkel, with no Nitro in the tanks.

First thing's first - do we believe?

Do we have the tact to slow down and smell the roses, or are we racing off only to smell the fertilizer?

Do we believe? Yes. In the hype.

    Leave the hype.

One at a time must be the call. 80 full blooded minutes must be the target.

Top 4. What does it mean half a dozen rounds out from "real" footy?

    Squat.

    Diddly.

As Tony Barber often mumbled at the money end of the deal...Youre time starts now.

    One.

    By One.

    One at a time.

This week first. This week only.

    We start again.

Dont lose sight. By blinding ourselves with talk of tables and numbers.

We have work to do. Mountains of it.

We are too far from the post to be wielding the whip.

    Build. Minute by minute.

    One at a time.....

    For it is that time.

Go Easts. This week we tame the horses. That is the vision at the end of the tunnel. We must contract to flog the Horses. Else we are flogging a dead horse.

There is no other. There is no tomorrow.

    There is just now.

Fire up Easts. Slowly burn away, simmer.

    One at a time Easts.......

    One.
Alcohol never solved any life problems.....then again neither did milk.

          Next three matches are tough.

Monday night footy v The Broncos away, then back up for Parramatta on a Saturday night.

          St Sowards the following week.

Will do well to win one of those matches.

I like our chances against the Broncs. After watching them against the Titans, we will beat the 13+. Maybe getting ahead of myself, but we can beat them.

If we win 1 of those 3 i'll be disappointed. Beating Broncos and Parra should be the minimum expectation now.

                      We must be doing okay.

So we got past the Broncos...just, but it's not over yet.

I think we should sticky this thread for every time we need a reality check.
