Sims has some serious knee problems and would be a big risk for any future employer.

Don't worry about his knee problems. The real problem is his hands.

I wouldn't read too much into Ferguson's comments in the media. I can't blame him for wanting to leave Cronulla.

but he hasn't delivered anything.. we need someone to lead the pack and Sims imho cannot do it.

if you don't understand the basic premise of diplomacy and not putting shit on those who pay your salary TO THE MEDIA then you're more of an idiot than I thought

I suspect you're on benefits anyway, so maybe you can't be expected to understand employee/employer relations

What does Coach Smith & Sims have in common????? > Illawarra junior.

I hope we finally land this guy because he has plenty of ability and experience and much like Ryles, he would regenerate as a player under Brian.
wouldnt mind sims in RWB at all. For mine we either shed paea and sign sims or we keep paea - i think paea is only a couple of years older than him if that so both offer a similar amount of experience, ability and depth its just a matter for the club to decide who they would prefer imo. I personally would have sims - paea has been nowhere near consistent enough and even though at times he has shown himself to be among the best impact props in the game, sims is vastly more experienced and has way more natural ability imo as well as a bit more versatility and he fits into the kind of mold of players smith is developing - props who can also play in the backrow (myles, FPN, JWH, Conn, Masoe) to give the side not only plenty of size but being also comfortable on the edges, these guys are very good lateral movers

Ashton Sims can be very damaging on his day but i dont see him as a leader of our young pack Ryles and Mylesdo it so well if only Jason were a few years younger

Also, Sims is another rubbish player. I hope we don't get into a habit of signing players because they will magically get better under Smith.

Sign young blokes with potential not hacks who might get better.

This is possibly the most important sticking point for me.

How long before he's on a plane to France to play Rugby if he doesn't get what he wants

I think people are being to harsh on the kid. He is what 20 years old. Never known his dad. Taken from his mum at 13. Step dad went to jail. He isn't mouthing off like mundine, but because Haumono is related he is slapped with the tag.

I don't like making excuses but I am mystified how on one hand people poke holes in stories in the newspapers when they don't agree, but then jump on the band wagon when the paper is all of a sudden the gospel truth?

Everything he says is true... everyone else at the club would be saying the same thing... then a reporter grabs you for an interview.. a 20 year old with a world of media training, and asks probing questions which is his profession.

Nothing he said was big noting himself. He actually spoke quite well.

Besides, anyone who can do this is worth a shot...

I hope we sign him... and I hope (as I'm sure you all will too) that he proves you wrong.

He needs a better environment (ours is improving), a good coach (tick) and time... at 20 he has plenty.
