lol at everyone thinking that every single average or young player will become a superstar under Brian Smith.

I would take Blake, but not on the money he wants, so a miss on him.

And i would rather a leader in the pack then sims, but if he came cheap then we should think about it.

Well it seems we are linked to Ferguson and O'Neill, I don't mind that too much.

Looks like in the long run we could be:

        1. Sammy Perrett
        2. Justin Carney
        3. Shaun Kenny-Dowall
        4. Kane Linnett / Justin O'Neill / Blake Ferguson
        5. Kane Linnett / Justin O'Neill / Blake Ferguson
        6. Todd Carney
        7. Mitchell Pearce

I'm not a huge fan of Perrett as a fullback, he needs to add something else to his game before he's a deserved selection there. Even his support play leaves a lot to be desired.

One of the most underrated wingers in the game and so important to our game but not a fullback (yet, anyway) in my opinion.

The fact that Blake Ferguson is being taken seriously by some members is absolutely laughable. Idiocracy at its most prominent. I'll say it again; If we are serious about signing someone decent - Paul Gallen is the man.

On the J.O'Neill thread, isnt there the option 'We have enough outside backs already'?? It has some votes aswell....

But seriously, you say we have an array of quality 2ND Rowers already. Which one of them is a better player than Gallen??

                  number 1: Nate Myles
                  2: FPN
3: JWH (his actual position is 2nd row)
                  4: Mitch Aubbuson
                  5: Braith Anasta

there are 5 players who are at the roosters who i consider better than Gallen.

All 4 of them play with aggression and skill, without the baggage of thuggery and suspensions.

off the back of that, we have players like leilua and Symmonds in the first grade squad and Cordner in the under 20's.

And separate from whether or not he is better than our current back-rowers (which I don't think he is), it would be an inappropriate signing. As a supporter, I don't think I could stand seeing a grub like that at our club. It would be a dumb signing because it has the potential to alienate a lot of supporters and damage the morale of the club in the same way Willie Mason's signing eventually did.

the only time that i would consider us signing another backrower is if anasta happened to leave or his backrow experiment fail (both reasons go hand in hand really). If that was the case then i think there would be scope/the need for us to secure the services of an experienced backrower to bridge the gap as our future backrowers like cordner, leilua, cherrington and symonds in particular are still young and a bit raw so someone like gallen for a couple of years to at least bridge the gap and if not mentor them wouldnt be a half bad idea. Odonnel is another option as he may be forced out. The only other experienced backrowers that i rate going around are waterhouse and heighington but their chances of leaving their respecitve clubs is close to zero - gallen and odonnel if pursued would probably come imo.

As for ferguson, i can see that we are obviously in the market for one more outside back and it appears to be a two horse race between ferguson and o'neil. both i think have plenty of ability and are still young and raw so wouldnt mind whether we went either way but if this happened, i think that there would no longer be a place for graham at the club and he should be released accordingly. I would then say that our side probably doesnt really need anything/one else and just needs to work on development and retention aside from maybe getting rid of paea and replacing him with someone like ashton sims again for depth. Exciting times ahead

I'd take Matt Duffie over Justin O'Neill and Blake Ferguson. But I must admit, I wouldn't be unhappy to land the signature of Ferguson or O'Neill, as long as it's not for a ridiculous amount, like the one mentioned in the Telegraph yesterday. Or still, we can jump use Steve Naughton, Fine Moeakiola or Luke Towers on the wing if need be. They are still with the club and wouldn't be asking for much more than the minimum wage I would think.
