I think you have a selective memory JT, I am not saying he is playing like Billy Stater but he offers plenty
Is this a Storm payment method?

Or would you's like to see the Chooks go for more of a well known fullback e.g
Coote Gardner etc or stick with Sam Perret for Fullback next season
      No, no and no..

He was good because he was able to get into dummy half more often. His support play (which is the most important part of a fullbacks attacking game) is poor

Every fullback has a running game. But there are two types of fullbacks IMO. The first type is a ball-playing who plays out wide more often and is on the end of a "block" play running a sweeper line eg Karmichael Hunt, Billy Slater. The second type is one who mostly supports up the middle and looks for opportunities via offloads. Minichiello does the second type very well. He supports the forwards very well and plays in tight. But he has developed his game this year that he is fast becoming the first type of fullback. He will come out wide only every so often. Perrett does a little bit of the second type but not really the first type IMO. Todd Carney was more of the first type fullback who can expand a team's width by using the whole field and using the centres and wingers early in the tackle when teams try to "jam" in. Smith has done a great job in establishing a gameplan where we use the entire width of the field to be as effective as we have been.

Fitzy, I totally respect your opinion

            BUT

I don't think Sam Perrett at 110% is in the same league as Mini at 50%

Before injury Mini was the best fullback in the game, he may never get back to those lofty heights but if injury free should run around for us in 2011. He is slowly getting back into some good form.

Sam Perrett whilst a trier will never be as good as Mini (ever)

            Cheers

            Steve

I wouldn't mind seeing Gareth Widdop at full back in the RW&B.

You mean the last couple of weeks?

Also, Perrett needs to be taught support play. I can remember getting very shitty at Mini early on because his positional play was terrible, desparation was atrocious and generally seemed to need a V-2 rocket up his rear end. He got better.

Besides, Perrett will give 110%, which is better than Mini at 30% (we have forgotten how bad his hands can be after the last couple of weeks, his continued across the field running - which made Hegarty look like straight and he has only just begun to bounce off tacklers).

But Mini will prob be our fullback - though on a smaller contract again. He is not worth more.

No I mean what I said......

In an inconsistent year he has played well just happens that the past few weeks he has been one of our best and the leading metre eater

Billy, he hasn't played well. Apart from the last couple he has been ineffectual at best.

If Mini sticks around, which it sounds like he will, I just hope it doesn't cause a promising young fullback to leave our club or not come to our club because of it.

We have a promising young fullback at the club?

I've heard plenty of good things about Towers. Admittedly I haven't been able to see heaps of him. But he's looked pretty good when I have seen him.

Also, in a slightly related question does anyone know who our U/20's right side centre was that had himself a new arsehole torn by the Dog's wide running backrower in the #12 (I think) last weekend?

Luke Towers is not in the frame for first grade.

Exactly, that's the point. If we did then Mini would be struggling however as we don't there is a fair argument for giving him one more year.
