  • Brian Smith and Todd Carney.

These two are the main reason why he have seen our resurgence this season.

Firstly Smith. I think I've said a few times on here how I have been a big fan of his work. What we are seeing from him is what he has been doing for years. No coach can get improvement out of young players or fringe 1st graders better than this bloke. FPN, SKD, Maubs, Masoe, Conn, Linnett, Leilua all of these blokes are playing out of their skin. Also what we are seeing is the brand of footy he likes to play. As Lockyer said, there isn't a team in the league who has our attack. The way he encourages all players to move the ball and offload is a joy to watch. The way FPN set up that try last night was evident that his skills have improved. Who would of though 12 months ago FPN could run 50 metres, dummy the fullback and throw an offload while falling for a try? Unbelievable improvement from him and many other players.

Todd Carney. This kid is a freak. He is genuinely one of the best players in the game. As good as other players have been he is our game breaker the bloke we have been missing since Freddy. He has it all. He is fast, great footwork, can break tackles, is a great ball player, massive boot and kicks goals. ****ing great player.

I keep saying that this might be a year early for us. But we are a team on the rise and if it isn't this year we have many good ones ahead.

Certainly our attack is a year ahead. Defensive systems seems to take longer to bed down.
It's scientifically impossible for Easts to be in Souths' shadow when there's daylight between them and us.
    Easts to win

I'd throw a couple of other names into kudos thread as well.

Nick Politis - a lot of people tried to blame him for the problems we experienced last season, but he bit the bullett, sacked Freddy, and brought in Smith.

Peter O'Sullivan - I hope he's not caught up in the salary cap dramas at the Storm, because this guy has an unbelievable eye for talent. A first grade team made up predominantly of kids sitting in 3rd, and our NYC sitting in 4th.

Not if the salary cap has anything to do with it.

You have to strike while the iron is hot.

We will unfortunately lose guys like Mose, FPN, BJ and Linnett even though they would all love to stay. That is the pathetic system we are playing under.

I think we will eventually take the cap on.

Come 2013 the salary cap will have been adjusted.

It is natural that we will lose a few JT. But as someone said the cap is headed up, a few older guys will move and we will be able to keep most of them. The thing is most of our squad are in the their early 20's we can only get better.

That's the fear I have....and if it's not we are going to have 2005-2009 all over again.

If Smith and O'Sullivan stick to a plan we will be ok. Problem with 05-09 was that Ricky lost the plot.

By 2013, Pearce will almost be an 8-year, one-club veteran and get the $200k discount that the NRL are proposing

will have a big decision at the end of 2011 whether to keep Anasta or not, that will probably dictate whether we will have to shed some of our younger talented fringe firstgraders.

He will be gone. Carney will be established at 6 and Maubs will drop back to lock and we will end up with players such as BJ, Cordner, FPN, Symonds, Myles in the back row.

Well, with all due respect to Mitch Aubbison, his game will need to have come a long way by the end of 2011, if he's going to be able to provide the same skill-set that Anasta brings to the table.

I don't think Braith will want to go anywhere, and I don't think they'll let him go anywhere.

braith is a great leader and I think u will find with a full season playing lock before his contract expires that he will become one of the better backrowers in the competition

In my opinion Aubusson has all of the fundamental skills. He runs good lines, defends very well, has good support play, can draw and pass and has a good work rate. He also has deceptive speed.

Give him a season or two to develop further and we have a very good footballer. In fact, he is a very good footballer now.
