Give him a season or two to develop further and we have a very good footballer. In fact, he is a very good footballer now.
I don't know if he had a bad game in terms of that aspect of his game but he only had 6 hit ups for the game which i was extremely surprised about.

No argument from me. I think Mitch is already a rep standard player. But it's a whole different kettle of fish to say he could play lock and be that third prong of the attack like Anasta is now.

He hasn't been asked or been trained to play that role so who knows what he is capable of. Didn't Freddie plan on grooming him as a 5/8? So he may surprise if he is ever required to take on a playmaking role.

At the beginning of the year, Gould was commenting on a Rooster's training session he'd attended.

He was talking about, in his usual excitable manner, the way players move, and the "rumble" of their engines you hear as they run past.

He said he was impressed by the big four wheel drives, the Ryles', the Myles' etc.

But what stuck with me was what he said about Carney. He said it was like hearing a Porsche, or Ferrari (can't remember which). Carney then went on to help tear Souffs to pieces.

          How right he was.

How about the line break he made in the first half to set up the second try. The way he just straightened and exploded off the spot they couldn't lay a hand on him. ****ing brilliant.

I really like how Smithy is getting old players to talk to the team before matches. They got Tommy Rodonikus in before the Broncs game. He was on radio yesterday saying how he doesn't like silvertails, and we are far from his favourite team. How we are Latte sippers and the rest.

Atleast it might have got the boys pumped.

Agree completely. Mitch has all the makings of a very good ball playing lock and a perfect replacement for Anasta if he goes at the end of 2011.

But the way he is playing and leading the team, BA could be here beyond that. Hope we don't have to choose between them.

                  Chook.
