  • SFS now resembles cow paddock

did anyone catch that Sydney Festival of Football at the SFS last night, real bright idea playing two games of soccer in the pouring rain, the ground has been that badly damaged there is no way it will recover before the end of the season, it is such a shame because it will effect the way we can play at home matches for the rest of the season.

Hopefully they will resurface the centre after Saturday.

It surprised me how quickly the field deteriorated, the SFS can usually take a hammering from the heavens but an hour of solid rain and the place was flooded - I remember a match a few seasons ago against Parra when it rained the entire day and it was still in far better shape than last night, hmmmmmmmmmm.

The field should be fine. It's not as if we need a good flat surface like soccer does.

we dont have a game there for 2 or 3 weeks, that should be plenty of time... i dont think it is being used for anything else inbetween then?

Yeah we don't need to worry about it for at least three weeks until the Monday game with Gold Coast.

It is being used for another day of the Festival of Football tournament on Saturday for another two games, and then for Sydney vs. Melbourne on August 7.

It looked terrible yesterday; an absolute lake.

Was that the one where Cross got cited for gouging and we scored 2 second half tries to beat Parra?

Indeed, I thought the world was going to end that night - it refused to stop raining.

yes the supposed eye gouge was called out by the cat glenn morrison. When they showed the replay, crossy's fingers were not near the eyes.

Will the S.F.S. surface ever be 100% right. It had that worm problem a couple of years ago too.

I miss the old days when after rain the field would be like the Somme. A real slog.

hopefully it will be fine for the titans!
