I lost count of how many one percenters he came up with tonight... raking the ball... getting to a lose ball first... chasing back. Some of his defense tonight was awesome as well, jamming in on Tahu and co.

Easily one of the most underrated wingers in the competition and a lot of the time by our own fans.

His quick hands for the second try was impressive. Showed good pace to get on the end of the kick, and had a split second to get the ball onto Kenny-Dowall but put it on his chest. Great skill.

Sammy's just about a specialist in that department, stealing the ball from kick-for-touch

Perrett made a very silly error just before halftime but otherwise had a great game.

We need to make room for players like BJ and Symonds and I suspect Perrett will be the one to miss out. He also would have been earmarked to become fullback after Mini retires but Mini's back problems seem to have gone away...

Dice, that is an absolutely ridiculous statement...Perrett is the key driver of our go forward, the only reason we can maintain such a big pack is that we have wingers that go forward on tackles one and two, to force him out for 2 second rowers, would be completely counterproductive and somewhat symptomatic of what has become criminal underrating of one of the games most consistent wingers

Suggesting Perrett is "the key driver of our go forward" is more ridiculous than anything I have said. The defensive efforts of the likes of Friend, Myles, and Maubs take more workload off our forwards than anything Perrett does.

All I am saying is despite Sammy's abilities the taller and faster likes of Linnett and Graham are better options on the wing. If someone else forces their way into the side I can't see Sammy being retained on the wing ahead of Linnett, Graham, or SKD.

Dice, you need workers and Sammy does a lot for our forwards.
You need workers in the side not every one can be a flash player.

He is there doing hs job in the backs but he also comes in and pulls off tackles and is forever giving the forwards a break .he is part of the succesfull formula of us winning.

Perrett = Reliability. You can't just drop him for one or two errors now and then. This discussion seems to happen every year and yet we can always cheer when he has saved that tackle or taken the ball up from our line. They can't all be superstars on the field.

He is the busiest winger in the game.....his work out of dummy half every single set continously gets us on the front foot by the 3rd tackle, love Sammy.

That was a bit of a freak play. The tackler knocked the ball out of his hands as he was hitting the ground. I wouldn't describe it as a silly error.

I would he at that stage of the half his prime focus should have been making sure he kept posession.Apart from that Perrett was very good.

Any way Sam atoned for that error straight after half time when he kicked and retrieved the ball for us to get 6 more. From the following play we scored.

He came up with some big plays when it mattered last night

I labeled him a one trick pony earlier this year but he far more than that at the moment. His combination with SKD is gettig better each week and more importantly their defense is aiming up more often.

Perrett and SKD always had potential in them it was just the errors that killed them.

I don't understand how anyone can say that Perrett might be dropped for some other guys coming back from injury or lower grades. He is a dead set legend and his metres from dummy half a very big part of our playing style this year. He is also an NZ international!

In fact I don't think we need to do much at all with our back line or our forward pack, we should be keeping them all unless salary cap issues or big offers to off-contract players from other clubs force our hand. I'm quite happy with our playing roster as it stands.
