  • Penalty Counts

    Another lopsided penalty count.

    But I don't care.

    I don't care at all.

    Get used to it.

    I have.

And don't even blame the refs.

Going back to what Trew said last week, it is obviously a tactic we use well to slow down the ruck because no forward pack can get a roll on. Last night Hayne had no room because of it.

It works great and the cost is a bunch of lopsided penalty counts.

    And I don't care.

Because we keep winning despite them - and because of them.

Great point made J.T worked amazing tonite against the eels especially but genrally gives are blokes more time to get back and less time for them to get a roll on

Some of those penalties against us make you wonder if the referees are being conditioned that we have an undiscipline team and it's ok to give penalties against us. Some calls last night, and like all other times before then, were pedantic and really didn't cause the game to suffer. Yet when the other sides do it, the officials just let it go.

BUT,and its a big but--we did give away a few that we deserved, that said, that **** hayne gave 2 penalties to the plane train within metres of our line and the **** scored,of course

Interesting theory, JT, but I don't quite buy it.

Neither do I. Good sides will put points on us off penalties. We just can't defend for extended periods like yesterday on our line.

Merge will rip us a new one if we give them the same chance.

Oh the hate was alive and well last night....

You would have loved feral Cheryl across from us....she was great value.....with her centrelink brought teeth....

And our re-enactment of the Hayne Train derailing had to be seen to be belived, although I am sure Muzz could post the video here....

The penalties against us for not getting off Hayne in a nano second were farking ridiculous, if it was any other player there wouldnt have been any penalty.

I thought we had a decent run with the ref last night.

The Joel Reddy 'held up' decision could've gone either way. And the Luke Burt 'knock on' came at a crucial time.

we did give a few penalties away last night due to poor discipline.. although the game was easily over and our blokes were just toying with them

If it is a ploy to concede penalties as some kind of calculated risk, then I think it is a risky one to deploy against all opponents under all conditions if that is indeed how it is used. Anyways, I'm just a clueless punter but clueless or not, it would be a cherry on top of the team's "form cake" to actually be on the better side of a count at least half the time.

What is the explanation for losing 90% of penalty counts over the past 4 or 5 seasons?

In the 2nd half against parra, we only received one penalty.

i thought that was quite interesting. Again another example of how opposition teams become a beacon of dicipline when they play us!
