    Brian Smith is 100% footy.

He has been known for it for years.

Texts to players in the middle of the night.

    Mind games with the opposition.

Going to watch Parra last week to see Hayne and then devising the plan to destroy him.

Going to Brisbane yesterday to watch Saints play.

He will win his first comp with us.

    And it may be soon.

    Go Brian.

    Go Easts.

Based on what I've seen, you can't question the man's dedication so yes ...

When the news came through that we had signed Smith I said to Mitchell Pearce that he will not know what hit him. Expect calls in the middle of the night because this guy is 100% football.

Mitchell said he couldn't wait because he is 100% footy too.

The results of this match made in heaven are starting to bear fruit.

I love him and he really jumped in the deep end with us and has done great this year so far. Lets hope the players continue to do their part for him...

I've always thought he is the best tactical coach in the league. In the past there has been criticism with his management of players which was fair. But how great is it to watch a team who has a clear plan everytime they take the field.

Go back to round 1 where it started and we were up against the "best pack" in the comp. They way we ran from dummy half and tired their big men out. Then late in the game Pearce and Carney ran them ragged.

Look on Saturday where we had a clear tactical plan kicking against Hayne, look at the way we defended him. It was ****ing great to watch.

As JT said he was up in Brisbane watching the Dragons live and again we will be ready and have a plan to beat them.

Mitch was interviewed after the game, still in his gear, and said that he and Todd had already discussed things to improve

Carney also mentions how he and Mitch exchange phone calls and texts about areas on improvements and plans for the game ahead during the week

the boys are primed. We have the attack to win it - need to steel a defence and I'd be more comfortable about October

One thing many critics of Smith's like to point to is the absence of silverware in his trophy cabinet. That does not make him a lesser coach than one who has some.

Another thing that critics say is that Smith is bad at man management and evidence for this they say is provided by Smith's treatment of Kirk Reynoldson and others at the knoughts to which I reply that perhaps Smith was acting under orders?

Lastly, there is his intensity, the 100% Footy spoken of here, that supposedly is just too much for some players. To that I would reply by posing a question - is it possible that Smith has learnt many lessons over the years and refined his approach accordingly?

The guy has just been unlucky not to win 2 or 3 premierships. If you look at his time at the Dragons and Eels he has taken his sides to the last four 7 or 8 times. Only then to run into bad luck.

The Newcastle situation was just a media beat up by the usual suspects. What they failed to acknowledge was that the board got him in there to clean the joint out. He was doing what he was told to do.

I think one thing that goes against him is the brand footy he plays. Every club he is at he coaches a great attacking style of footy, which is great to watch. Maybe in the bigger games that is hard to replicate under pressure.

I don't care alot about the past with Brian Smith except to say that I think the Roosters are lucky that he has learnt from it.

Every time I think I read too much into what has happened on the field and see things that I think Smith is doing, I see more.

The Parra game was a prime example, to me he seemed to used our forwards in a way that the short turnaround would not effect them, he still had 6 interchanges up his sleeve in the second half !!

I would love to know if the changes in intesity in some the Roosters games are planned.

While I would love to win a premiership in the next year or 2, I am over the moon that the Roosters are competitive and am content that Smith has done his job this year.
It now beyond my expectations and I am just smiling enjoying the ride which I hope will even get better.

Smiths man management at Newcastle was all big hoopla over nothing.

He ****ed off Newton who was on overs for a park footballer.
He ****ed up Reynoldson who was exactly the same and with the club struggling financially they did not want to activate his 3rd year clause.
Perry has shown us that he isn't a front rowers a-hole.
Snowden was self admitedly a terrible player with no drive until he realized his lucky position at Cronulla.

He filled that team with nuffies who did twice the job at half the price.

there is the argument that smith is a crap coach because he has no silver ware.....

Steve Folks and Ricky Stuart have won silver ware.......where are they now???

Smith has come to the Roosters at the Right time. he has a team with exponetial amounts of skill and has instilled determination and confidence.

We have players that can set his game plan, it's all about execution !
