Best Roosters Attack Ever?

This is my take on the carney v fittler argument.
we were lame before fittler arrived, Fittler was the 1st piece of a rather large jigsaw puzzle, the side was built around him.
Carney on the other hand is the final peice in the puzzle, we knew alot of our guys had talent, "potential" etc but we were missing that final peice, it was under the lounge, in the bin, hence we could not complete the bloody thing.
Carney completes the puzzle, he IMO will be this clubs most significant signing ever.

The Bondy Spy reckons we were better in 1981 but I don't agree.
I can't believe that we have three-quarters with speed.
Our halves are better than Fittler and Lam were.
And Braith will be the best lock in the game within twelve months.
Add to that the offloads coming from our forwards like FPN and Ryles, the hole running of Mitch and the support play of Mini and it is little wonder that we are tearing teams to shreds.
I loved watching our brutal defence in 2002-2004 but this attack just has me going through more tissues than a funeral parlour.
The turnaroud has been nothing short of amazing and I am nervous during games for the first time in years.
Go ****ing Easts!
You beauty.
Truth be told I'm sharing those feelings, I've had wood for 5 weeks.
Chook.

Well I dont want to give myself up as an old foggie,
I do recall the 74-75 era. The Eastern Suburbs Roosters were a great team with great player, more importantly a great coach in Gibson.
Pretty hard to compare that side with our current team as the game is vastly different today to 74-75.
Just look at the talent back then, Beetson, Coote, Harris, Brass, Junee, Mayes, Walters, Morgan, Reilly, Mullins, Fairfax, and the young blokes that Gibbo turned into stars like Ken Jones, Reinberger,Grant Hedger Des O'Rielly, they were good players, and won a record number of games on the trot 16 I think it was.
The guys we have now are great in the way the game is played now, and will definately be up there with those guys should they win the competition this year. We live in hope.

Seriously, it never ceases to amaze me when he does things like that. I guess its why Freddy put him at No 6 last year.
I, for one, was sure he was gonski career-wise. Glad to be proved wrong.

He is the classic modern lock, who can inject himself sporadically, rather than be relied on. Needs to work on his defensive workrate but i like what i see.
