  • Best Roosters Attack Ever?

I missed 1975 (just) so some of the old fogies here may dispute it but this is the best Roosters attck I have ever seen.

The Bondy Spy reckons we were better in 1981 but I don't agree.

I can't believe that we have three-quarters with speed.

Our halves are better than Fittler and Lam were.

And Braith will be the best lock in the game within twelve months.

Add to that the offloads coming from our forwards like FPN and Ryles, the hole running of Mitch and the support play of Mini and it is little wonder that we are tearing teams to shreds.

I loved watching our brutal defence in 2002-2004 but this attack just has me going through more tissues than a funeral parlour.

The turnaroud has been nothing short of amazing and I am nervous during games for the first time in years.

    Go ****ing Easts!

    You beauty.

For the first time since 2004, I have found myself impressed by the way the team is playing that I sometimes find it hard to believe that the nucleus of this side bar two rather important additions (Carney and Ryles) is the same as that of 2009. The transformation is stunning and I have to give Mr Smith and his coaching staff credit for their part in effecting such a turnaround. BRILLIANT STUFF.

Thats hillarious. Cooper will be worrying more about not getting dirty than doing something, and 'Sowie' will need to stand 30 metres behind his pack when kicking in order to avoid JWH.

Look, we will go far this year, and in my opinion we are looking good to win it, but to suggest this is the best attack we have ever had is absolutely ridiculous. We haven't won anything yet. Don't get ahead of yourselves.

Its a team thing, a belief, something I didn't think could be be changed this quickly.
During 2002-2004, you knew that they could outlast, and grind a team down. At the moment they seem to be able to blow them off the park.

Minichello ball playing, who would have thought !!

I hope it keeps on going, but its great to be a Roosters supporter

I was around in 74 and 75 - and at 51 I am not an old fogey.

I gotta say that some of the tries we've been scoring of late are poetry in motion - a joy to watch.

The thing that makes the '74-75 side a better attacking team is that they WON 2 in a row...Including the famous 38-0 obliteration of ST Merge..

If this team can do that, then history will judge them as being on par with that side..

I know most on here aren't old enough to appreciate it,but that '74-75 side was one of the best sides in history..

The present side are on fire..but there aint no trophy in the cabinet yet..

                    '74-75 has Beetso too..

There is a great fluidity with this Roosters side.

Braith said that the place is full of confidence, the young ones want the ball, so they are giving it to them and they are making Magic.

not seeing the 74-75 finals, i am hoping that this side can be the 74-75 sides of this generation !

massive call mate....boy oh boy ppl have short memories. Carney must dominate like this for 9 yrs straight before he can be considered in the same class as Freddy.

I agree. Carney is very good but geez, Freddy did it for 9 seasons at the Roosters. Pearce is also very good but Lam was a great ball player with a very good short kicking game. They also played (in my opinion) during a period where the competition was of a much higher standard than today.

They certainly have the potential to be better but they have plenty to do still.

Don't forget JT never liked Fittler!

I agree, a massive over-reaction. Our halves are playing an exciting brand of football, but they have a long way to go yet.

Lucky charm I am not. I have not been this excited about our side since we fielded a team consisting of Treacy, Bartrim, Leikvol, Ainscough and co.

And not to mention my all time favourite Dragon, Craig Fitzgibbon.
