      Have a look here.

      http://stats.rleague.com/rl/crowds/summary.html

What it does show is that we are not the lowest drawing crowd. Over a longer period plenty of clubs are worse than us. This argument is a myth with no statistical basis.

We don't have the greatest crowds and just like every other team they drop when the Roosters are not doing well.

The thing that has surprised me is that the last few games, Souths, Bulldogs, Brisbane and Parra how many Roosters supporters there were in large crowds.
the noise made by the Roosters supporters matched if not surpassed those of the other supporters. Its great.

We have a lot more supporters than others think. We just can't seem to convert them into member numbers. I was suprised at our crowds in QLD

That's what it is. We have great fans in Qld. We also have heaps of fans who live out west. You only have to see when we play at Parra or Penrith that we get very good numbers to the games.

My opinion is that the 'original' supporter may have mostly come from the Eastern Suburbs. Since it's an affluent area, many other people who can now afford to live there buyout the original fans who in turn move out of Sydney. These new Eastern suburbs dwellers may have come from anywhere in Sydney or the world. Those who came from Sydney, may already like another team there fore we lose fans. It wouldn't happen to clubs like the Dogs cause when you are born there, it's likely that you'll stay there all your life & since they represent a certain community, those from that community wouldn't dare go for the club in the rich hoods. Of course it's more complicated than that but we lose fans because they move north, like QLD.

As it is, he has to work this sunday, but a few people have already said he looks rather sickly.....

Bummer about not getting to catch up.

Yep, from even over here can see that FC is looking sickly....definitely should look after himself by not going to work & inflicting his sickness on others.

More needs to be done in order to encourage our fans in Western Sydney or QLD to purchase memberships

I agree that heaps of people would call themselves 'Roosters fans' if they were forced to nominate who their favourite team was. But these people don't go to games in big numbers, unlike 'fans' of other clubs.

We get really bad numbers when we play in the west compared to virtually every other Sydney based club (besides maybe Cronulla). It would be a generous estimate to say there were 1,000 Roosters fans when we played Wests at Campbelltown this year. There were probably about 2-3,000 at Penrith and 4,000 at Parra. Then probably 5-7,000 at the two games at the Olympic Stadium. These are bad numbers considering the team has been in good form after a lean trot.

You hit the nail on the head. Rooster Supporter grew up in the eastern Suburbs. They cannot afford a house there anymore so move west. The trend there is that the furthur you go west, the less Roosters Supporters.

We rate very well on TV, which could explain this

Very good point. I suspect this is very true - lots of people will sit down and watch us on Nine, but few will venture out to the game.

People forget that Sydney Siders, as in the heart of the city which we are abouts, have a sh*t load more options of what to do on weekends than just go to a football game. I was born here but raised in Queensland and the difference is pretty huge. And it's true that most people when asked who say they are Roosters fans but don't follow enough to get out to a game. I have plenty of friends who feel that way and when I ask why the response is always "I pay for foxtel and my tv I may as well use it."

Eh, what are you gonna do? :\

We die hards are a rare breed, that is for sure....

I know of several people who travel many hours to attend as many games as humanly possible.....in relativity, we are locals living out here in the Druitt.....Besides, with global warming as it is, we will be the new east and the east will be 20 feet under soon......
