I think we can all agree that for the first 30 minutes or so we were ****ing useless yesterday. But after that we started to settle down. There were less ridiculous attempts at offloads. They started concentrating on kicking and territory. Then guess what? We ****ing score on half time and Manly didn't score again.

Our side is ****ing brilliant on their day but they need to get it through their thick heads that we can grind out wins, we can wear teams down. The brilliance is there but we need to be patient.

I was very happy to see Pearce and Carney take a few tackles instead of going for all or nothing on a single play. Same as Perret's try. He backed himself to have the pace and he scored. If he gets tackled we still have good field position and are on the attack - not watching the opposition score down the other end.

Lets hope the boys realize this and play smarter. They are immature yet brilliant. Next year is looking good but this year is not over. Some mature performances could see us do some damage in the finals.

The biggest frustration was watching them drop the ball due to over-eagerness and over-excitement.

We won't get anywhere if we can't complete sets.

Our forwards bashed the shit out of manly yesterday. They can grind any team, including St Merge into submission. The backs showed patience and won the second half in a cantor.

Also that defense in the last ten minutes on the line was bloody good too.

Totally agree MadDuke. They were on top and then we bashed them real good.

Good post MRiHK. Very pleasing to see some lessons learnt and patience shown. There was a try scored that amply demonstrated that to me and it was SKD's third I think where a break was made down the left, the tackle taken, the ball spun out quickly to the right and SKD crossed. Previous weeks that play would have broken down after the initial break was made.
