I've been critical of Carney's defence earlier in the season. At least the guy puts his body on the line and actually gets the shoulder down. SKD is a shirt grabber.

Carney, like Pearce should have a high error count because they handle the ball more than anyone else on the team and they ball are players.

Inglis has been crap for a large part of the year and the stats back that up. There is no way he is playing better than those listed above him. He's looked disinterested for most of the season apart from when Joey rattled his cage. Yes he has more ability than those listed above him but he's hardly played to his true level this year.

The two tries Manly scored were 1/ he rushed up and a quick pass had Perrett 2 and 1 as has happened many times this year. 2/ He shirt grabbed Lyons, as he does often, who pushed him off and they scored the other.

His attack has been great apart from some brain snaps but his defense is no better than game 1 this year.

I cite matai's try as evidence to the contrary. SKD's "effort" at stopping matai was woefully inadequate. The sooner he gets these kind of half-hearted grabs out of his game, the sooner I'll applaud his defence.

The first try (the inside ball) was Mose's lazy slide defense. Matai was SKD's man, not the inside runner

The second try was a 3 on 2 overlap. He rushed up on Manly's fullback to try and shut it down early, but very quick hands beat him

Take a look at the lead up to one of the tries. He goes to grab Lyons and he gets brushed off and they run down field and score. So many times he goes to grab and he gets brushed off. It is a simple fix. Bend down and tackle.
