The kid is a huge fan and has a horribly agressive form. You can use whatever motivation you want to win a footy game and I'm sure we have quite a few. They've just made theirs more public.

I know the kid, he is a brave little fella, the tigers have done alot with him, even there cheerleader who won cherrleader of the year gave the prizemoney to his parents.

And to be brutally honest, anybody who knows his situation and is NOT motivated by his fighting qualities is a heartless piece of shit

What's wrong with working towards a terminally ill kid getting to see his favourite team win a comp?

The tigers have been wonderful to this young bloke and his family. They paid for he and his dad to go up to watch the Titans game last week in a corporate box.

It would give this young kid one of the biggest thrills of his young life to see the Tigers win a comp. I see no problem with the Tigers players being motivated by that.

And I would hope that the Roosters players would be no different if they were in the same situation.

Why don't the Roosters go to the pediatric oncology ward of Prince of Wales Hospital and pick out 17 dying kids for each of the players to dedicate their game to.

It's sick. And I did notice that after that first game, the kid's disappeared into the background. He's mentioned and that's it.

While I have sympathy for the kid, I think this emotional situation should be left out of the headlines, im sure it doesnt make the kid feel any better if they win and it only increases the disappointment if they lose.

Yea I know the kid is sick and I know he would love to see a comp win etc but im just not sure if using this kids illness or anyones illness ( for That matter ) to say to themselves ( the players ) that because this little boy is so ill im gunna go out and play heaps better than i normaly do ?

I think in last year's final series Parramatta had a similar relationship with a sick little boy.

You do realise that giving this young bloke publicity has meant that the family has received a lot of financial and practical support and has enabled them to give him a much better quality of life and enjoy his limited time a lot more than he otherwise would have.

I don't see too many downsides in that. A sick child would drain a family's finances unless they were reasonably well off. And I suspect that this family isn't.

This boy's young life has been filled with disappointments. One more probably won't make a difference, but I'm sure the thrill and enjoyment he'd get if the Tigers did triumph would.

Gee this is a bit harsh. The young bloke has a terminal illness and the Tigers have taken him under their wing. Nothing wrong with that....Makes the little fella feel kinda special I am sure.

As for it motivating the team, why not? I am sure they would love to win for him and bring an even bigger smile to his face.

I think if you have a look, Babe Ruth did it first, and the papers made a big fuss of it, Gehrig, being a much more modest person, hit 2 homers when he was asked to by a different kid, but didnt tell the newspapers, or thats how it comes across in the movie. The Pride of the Yankees
