Player ratings in the SMH

I gleefully retrieved my SMH from the front lawn this morning, looking to read about the game. Those player ratings caused me to shake my head and immediately put it down.

The comments for JWH and Kennedy PROVE he wasn't even watching the game and was going off what he overheard from a suicidal Tigers supporter crying into his methadone and milk at Campbelltown railway station.

I had to laugh when I was told to "go back to Bondi" when hanging a leak at half time.

Their fans are up there with Souffs and Dragons fans as my most disliked.

I think this is fair. 5 for Conn and Jorbs for limited gametime. 6 for Pearce, Myles, Graham and Linnett as they all had quiet games. 6.5 for Morbs as he did some good things but two pretty bad errors. 7 for Minichiello, Perrett, Hargreaves and Nuuausala, as other than one glaring error each, they had very good games. 7.5 for SKD, Anasta and Friend for stepping up at the point in the game when we needed them the most. And 8 for Carney and Kennedy for being our best attacking weapon and go-forward man respectively.

No-one deserves more than 8 because we only played half a game of footy - we didn't really start playing footy until the 60th minute. Until then, it was pretty much all defense. A 9 rating should be like what Carney did against Broncos about 7 weeks ago, or Hargreaves animal-like performance against Manly.

But for overall team heart, spirit and courage - full marks. We just wouldn't say die!

Absolutely right. They wouldnt have the time to fix things. SMH reports havent normally been this negative towards us in 2010.

Only player i would change would be Maubs to a 6. He made 47 tackles!!

Obviously the ratings are complete crap, but they were evidently written after about 60 minutes. They were under really tough deadlines last night - barely had anything from the Wests/Roosters game, very little from the sheds, and they were so pressed they didn't even print the results of the rugby or aussie rules or Penrith/Canberra games.
