No denying Bwaiff played a great game last week. Most ppl realise he is a classic confidence player. When he feels he is on fire, he grows a third leg. Sadly he has rarely felt like that since his precocious first year at the Dogs. A bit more of it during the last 4 years would have been nice.
What i find extraordinary is how no one has mentioned this little media scrum over Bwaiffs future might be a classic case of contract manipulation.
1....rumours rarely materialise from thin air
2....Cowboys management basically said they had NFI
3....Bwaif wants to confirm his future
The rumour occured two days after Braith kicked a field goal that every one was talking about....that placed his head on the front of sports pages....that inflated his (no dally m points) season performance.
Recall that prior to the Roosters signing Bwaiff, the media hyped up the Souths bid. What became the main wedge was percieved disloyaly to his uncle. At the same time the NSW RU was cited as chasing the "star pivot". Days past bf the NSW RU said WTF? By then the Rooosters had spread $$$$$$$$.
Not long ago "French rugby clubs" were cited as being interested in the "star pivot". The story disappeared when the French said "pardon?".
The media story also focused on Bwaif as a potential 5/8. He is not a 5/8. The Roosters have no place for him there. He is now a floating forward. Hardly the position that drives clubs wild.
In the end the timing was remarkable....especially when Cowboys management said........WTF?
Someone sign up Bwaifs manager. (got him a bit of tv work lately. His tv persona is about as flamboyant as his playmaker skills). Before the field goal the very idea of a contract extension would have been scrutinised. Now it has the weight of necessity.
