    Is this even a question?

The Dogs loss was the most painful balls up in history. I was at the Stadium coming down hard off ecstasy that day. The whole episode led to some kind of minor breakdown where I couldn't watch League for three years. To this day I've no memory of the match, mercifully managing to block the entire ****ing episode out.

    The Dogs.

    Man.

    **** that shit.

And I thought your most painful memory was waking up next to Brainless under a table at the Blue Oyster Bar after a night of cocktails and Tangos. Who would have thought?

For me, this would be worse.

I don't know if I can survive losing to this bunch.

See you all in hell, if we lose.

i hate this current saints team and would pain me to lose to such a pile of well drilled shit.. but i don't think a loss this time would be the end of the world no. For the transformation of this team in the space of 12 months has given me such a rejuvenated joy.

that's not to say i don't want us to smash the turd into oblivion though

It's scientifically impossible for Easts to be in Souths' shadow when there's daylight between them and us.

2004 was like a bad dream coming true, it was very hard to take. If we had just held the ball we would of won easily, the Dogs were there for the taking.

This year I would still be devastated but at the same time I'm just so happy with the effort from the lads.

What got to me about 2004 was that once again like 2003 (and probably 2002 as well) Fittler , with all the glory and talent that got us to 3 GFs in a row, failed his team and supporters by just not standing up.

Knowing it was there to win and that some of them tried their guts out and at least one didn't really pissed me off.

I just don't think it will happen this weekend, if the Roosters lose, it will not be from lack of trying.

That's very unfair on Fittler. In 02 he was easily our best player, he had a hand in all of our tries and turned the game with the 40/20.

03 was a game in terrible conditions where it was a lottery, Fittler was was also playing hurt. He also come with a massive play in that game which Byrne butchered.

In 04 Fittler was very good in the first half and not so good in the second. But I wouldn't blame him, a few of our blokes were a disgrace that night. My lasting memory of that game was Finch throwing passes at blokes heads.

losing in 04 was devastating, however given that i live in St Merge territory now and have hated this team with a passion, i would be shattered if we lose to these scums.

                              Finch was schocking I agree.
But the only thing Fittler did in all the 3 GFs was get belted by the Warriors player that inspired the rest of the team

But without Fittler the Roosters don't get there to start with

Whilst he didn't have blinders, he was still the centre of our attack and pretty solid in defence.

To say he didn't show up is just not true.

As you say, in 2002, he was very good. In 2003, if Byrne doesn't screw up, Fittler has just set up the play that arguably wins us the damn thing. And in 04, Finch's absolutely disgraceful performance outweighed anything anyone could ever produce.
