The Sydney Roosters have appointed Luke Ricketson to the Sydney Roosters and Easts Leagues Club Board at Wednesday’s monthly meeting.
The club’s most capped player (301 games) spent 15 seasons with the Roosters.
His strong association with the club will continue through the role of Board Member, which was vacated by the recently resigned Michael Conn.
Roosters Chairman Nick Politis explained his desire for Luke to join the board.
“Luke has been a big part of our club for 20 years now and has been involved both on and off the field. With his business knowledge since retiring and with the role becoming available, we couldn’t think of a better choice than for him to join us in leading this great club,” he said.
Ricketson, who currently works at the Nine Network, is excited by the appointment and is looking forward to further growing the Easts group through his continued involvement with the clubs.
“I am very honoured to have been selected to join the board of this great club,” Ricketson said.
“I have been involved with the Roosters since I was 15 and it has always been a place that I have loved.
“After 15 years of making a contribution on the field I am excited about the challenge of being able to make a strong contribution off it as well.”
Ricketson will attend his first board meeting in October.
