Our forward were soft. Very. When Myles through a piss-poor offload early on and two of our players thought the ball had spiders on it or something, I could tell our guys were rattled. Shit calls didn't help, but at the end of the day our forwards didn't stand up for the full 80 minutes.

Either way Rusty, we are still immensely proud of the boys.....
Hate to say it guys, but Mitchell Pearce went missing last night. Might have been because the forwards were getting monstered. Carney was having a crack and Braith and Minichiello tried to inspire but I felt that Pearce should have had more presence.

I agree unfortunately. I think he got nervous after his first few kicks didn't come off.

I think Mitchell kicked pretty well. He and Mini were trying too hard with that little combo where they (Mini) knocked the ball on a few times. We just came out in the second half and were not into it enough. It felt all our good luck of weeks previous was deserting us. Frustration then set in. I still reckon the positional play on our left was inexperienced. B.J / Kane. I put it down to inexperience.

Carnage was again contained by the Stains. Waynkerr knew what we would try to do, his team followed orders. We shouldve used Carnage as a decoy all night.

They exploited our weakness in the 2 kids on the left side. Smart work again.

The officials are deadset arsemunchers, some real shitty crucial calls went against us, again.

No excuses the best team won.

Why does it rain AGAIN on GF night??? Farking baaaaaaaaaad karma mun.

            I agree.

Good to have you back mate.

both teams had equal potential in the first half in attack and defense, i think we were pretty equally matched there. but once the rain came, they had the squad we didnt-the toughness to wear us down until we were easy beats. its as though the boys feet were stuck in the turf, weighed down by rain, the crowd got into it and they got psyched out as soon as they got anywhere near the try line. experience cost us.

braith and that left hand side were our best chance and they picked that up in the second half

Friend made an error giving it to Anasta on the blind who put in a shitty grubber just before half time.

We had everyone spread out on the right hand side.

I misquote Senator Joseph Welch when discussing Joseph McCarthy's accusations aimed at Fred Fisher, a lawyer in Welch's firm, of communist leanings during the H.U.A.C. trials in 1954.

I thank you for your indulgence.

let me tell ya, you dont win grand finals with peirce throwing hospital passes to backs running at full tilt at dragons forwards, you cant throw forward passes to teamamates from dummyhalf when there desperatly trying to get out of your own half.

halfbacks are supposed to lead the team around the ground not send them head first into it. experience told he wasnt up to getting that team around the park in those conditions. and he was probably more of a hinderence and weaklink for us and braith should have moved to 5/8 and carny moved to half to provide some sort of direction.

secondly Brian smith.......... can get teams to finals but is yet to win one......

                        but as the adage goes

THERE IS ALWAYS NEXT YEAR YOU CHOOKIES

                          my 2 cents:

1.BJ leluia ...if Graham was fit shouldve played.
2.Set after half time Pearce throws the forward pass -- was the momentum changer....

Mitchell Pearce is still very immature and looking back, 21year olds don't guide your team to a GF. His forward pass was the turning point in my eyes.

He gifted them field position and they scored shortly after.

We needed composure at that point.

You are blaming Pearce for changing the momentum of the game? You are kidding. At half time he was probably in the seat for the Churchill medal. He ran at the line and kept them guessing and off their feet with 10 to go. How about when we went left and it was the 4th tackle instead of going the blind side and passing to BJ t score our 3rd try in 10 minutes, Linnett went himself and wasted a tackle.

Hoe about the forwards not making many meters to ensure Pearce and Carney had the depth required to play. How about Skids cheap turnover. And Myles' dropsy.

A lot of things didnt go our way (look at the avatar for more proof). Lets leave it at that and stop blaming a player that wasnt to blame at all.

Pearce's pass shouldn't have been a momentum changer as we should have got a penalty the next set when Morris pushed Perrett in the back as he attempted to defuse Soward's bomb, but we all know there are two sets of rules....one for the Roosters and another for the dragons.
