  • Prefer To Not Make GF than lose one

The feeling I have now, this low, the same as in 00, 03, 04 is something I would prefer to avoid...

If arent going to win the GF I prefer to not make it... Losing a GF hurts more than losing a prelim

I have just had enough of the hype around making a grand final followed by the extreme low, bitterness and disppointment of losing one

Prefer to not experience GF week if were going to lose the game that matters

Red, we were in the shit, literally, last year. To get where we did is a massive over-achievement.

And look at it this way, the coach isn't going to be sacked like in 2001 and we don't have Brett Finch as our halfback like in 2003/2004.

Add to that that it was a double whammy yesterday, Robert Finch's final revenge against the club that hurt his poor retarded little son and a benefit for that bitter old wowser, Bennett and the Dragons.

    The only way is up.

I disagree we are lucky to be 1 of the last 2 teams standing.

Our boys got a medal for their trouble no one else did.

It teaches the Team more about pride, passion, hunger, desire, ball control, defence.....etc

It gave us all great joy last week.

I disagree.....hopefully it teaches them the best lesson of all.....next year the need to WIN

Although I agree, we have such a young squad and apart from mini not many of these boys have experienced a grand final loss. It sucks now and we have to wear it but that empty feeling is not one they will forget for a very long time. It'll make them that much hungrier for it next year.

With you all the way RG.....

Would rather be proud of our boys for getting this far, than be out for the count long before we even know what could have been......

I strongly disagree - no one remembers the prelim finalists, everyone remembers the grand finalists. The Roosters are the story of 2010; Smith, Carney et al is who people will remember from this season. I don't think this would be the case if they lost to the Gold Coast; 2010 would have just gone down as a really good year.

Sure, it hurts right now but think about how good it felt to make it in the first instance, and how much greater the achievements of 2010 will look with a GF on the CV.

This year is a massive achievement, no dispute.. But it still would have been the same for me if we made to last week and lost...

I just dont like the feeling of losing grand finals... For me if we are not going to win it, than its better to lose the week before... I just hate this feeling of being sooooo close

I would rather be a chance of winning a GF than not being a chance...to better understand and get over your pain...imagine Soufff's supporters...they'd still celebrate losing the GF...cause they've not been in one for 39 years...hope that helped...

If the saying that you have to lose one to win one is true, I'd rather lose this year than next year. Think about how young our boys are and what the experince of this year will do for them in years to come. Most would have been overwhelmed by the week and the game. They now know what to expect in future.

                  GO EASTS!!!!

I know it hurts right now. But we were better than 14 teams this year. This time last year, we were at the bottom of the heap and now we are among the best.

                    So proud!

To be perfectly honest I think we've been spoilt.

In my first 25 years of watching the Roosters I saw 1 GF (1980)

                        In the last 11 I've seen 5!!!!!!

I would rather be in there with a chance than not there at all.

Yes but 5 out of 7 GF appearances lost is no medal of honor for fans. I too sometimes wish we didn't go through this again but might change my mind come round 10.

Smithy, his coaching staff and the players have shared a triumphant year - and yes there has been 'downers' along the way - to make to the grand final was bloody awesome - regardless of whether it is a finals game or normal comp game - I dont like to lose any of them!!!!! Yep, bit disappointed but damn proud to say that I am part of this great club!

I feel like I did in 00. Happy to have been there beaten by the better more expierenced team.

We have a future with a young team and some real hope again of future success after some pretty shit years.

                              I feel mostly numb.

But after 03 and especially 04, man that was some farked up nasty arsed shit, IMO.
