The competition is so even, it only takes a small rise / fall in form, to make or break a season. To be honest, St George were the best team all year and deserved to win the comp (god that hurt!). But in saying that, you have to take your chances when they come as it is so hard to get those opportunities. We had momentum, spirit and a good run with injuries this year, but just fell short in the second half of the last game of the season.

I agree that we overachieved this year, and I can see us coming in around 4th/5th/6th by the end of the regular season next year. If we are again lucky with injuries next year, I think we will have a better squad. I also think the competition will be tougher. If the guys can get the same momentum at the end of next year, the experience of this year will serve the team well. However there will be a lot of 'ifs' and luck will again play a part as it always does. I certainly don't think there are any guarantees next year - for any team.

I think the best comparison for our teams fortunes are comparing the 2010 team to that of 2000. I think next year we will miss out on the GF, followed by an extended run at the top (with at least one premiership) in the following few years when all our young guys atm are at their peak.

More consistant wingers would be a good start for the Roosters in 2011

Absolutely Keefy, that is where they need to start, NOT buying more backrowers.

Did I read somewhere that you blokes picked up Justin Carney from the Raiders? he is a gun player, reminds me of a young Matt Utai.

He is coming in next year. Not sure of his quality, hopefully he slots in.

The 2004 team was getting old. They were tired, mentally and physically. Fittler retired. 2005/06 were always going to be difficult years.

I don't see the same problem with this squad.
Excellent point. Stuart's style took everything out of them.
