  • Smith already back on the job

Having enjoyed a rare day off after Sunday's grand final, Smith was back at Roosters HQ yesterday to begin two days of brainstorming for 2011 with staffers and incoming assistant Brandon Costin

No real surprise, plenty of loose ends to tidy up and I'm sure the Club is yet to totally finalise its roster for 2011 - both comings and goings.

There are usually fringe players on the market at a reasonable price at this time. And as we know, fringe players are Smithy's specialty.

I want to know who our defensive coach will be for next year and what he has achieved in the past.

he likes to stick tight doesn't he?

If it isn't a family member, it's one of his old mates...

Maybe he can convince Captain Morley back for one more year.

Apparently not long enough, he told me yesterday arvo that he was off for a week.....I would have thought that he would be a major part of the "brainstorming" but I guess not....

Not sure, but his brother had some involvement with their national team so there might be a link there.

Wouldn't it be better to take a week or two off then look at the season in hindsight? My biggest concern is emotional baggage.

He'll leave that to the football 'brains', so I think it's ok.
