  • How did you...

get ready for the GF? What did you see? what did you hear? What did you do to show your support before the GF. Come on... lets put all the justified negatives aside for a minute and look back at how we showed our faith before that fatefull game.

I myself stuck my RWB stripes accross the back window of the hilux and headed up the hume hwy wearing my jersey and hat. Along the way, we passed many cars showing their colours who happily gave a salute with the horn. When we got into Sydney and turned on the MMMs, we heard a call for people to phone in and show their support so I got on the phone and did a massive Rooster call! We then went through Darling Harbour in our jerseys and had lunch at Hurricanes with other Roosters and Dragqueens fans. When we got to the ground, we handed out 600 RWB balloons and blew them up and waved them around madly. (by the way, how the **** did st merge scum get seats in our bays?) I bypassed those pricks when handing out the ballons by the way!

Let us know how you guys celebrated the day before 5pm.

I went and bought new Jerseys for the Girls and my son, and we all wear our kits whilst mum took photos. We sat up the night before and watched the 75 Grand Final I introduced the kids to the legends on that video, and then we watched the 2002 win. Again I introduced the kids to the legends liek Morley and Ricko as they were all babes or not born in 02. We were so looking forward to a great match and were very disappointed with the outcome. But we survived. And we'll all be there next year to WATCH OUR LADS WIN THE BIG ONE!!!!

This is my first one post GF.

Had a big day at the races on the Saturday. Started with a champagne breakfast at 930am and got home at midnight!

Woke up Sunday and started drinking at the club from 11am!

My week was similar to phantom's.

Last Sunday night I camped out for tickets, Wednesday night I attended the NRL Member's function (thanks for the free booze NRL), Thursday night I attended the Footy Show live taping at the Opera House (froze), Saturday night I met up with mydogsnamedfitzy and Ambrosia for drinks to calm our nerves and Sunday I drove to the stadium with a car full of Dragons fans. Thank God I didn't have to see them after the game.

After the game I, reluctantly, went back to the club, ended up at the player's party on Level 3 somehow, then left only to find myself feeling empty and annoyed at the fact I had to go home to a Dragons fan.

Luckily the next day was my best friend's birthday so I gorged on yum cha and Max Brenner chocolate. Sad ay?

A friend bought our tickets in the (accidentally in the Dragons section) on Monday morning.
Spent the next couple of days finding a trade on LU (which was successful, thankfully).
On Wednesday bought a new jersey, car flag, and streamers. Streamers are still on my car aerial. Not ready to take them down yet
On Thursday put up a Sydney Roosters flag and an old Sydney City flag (was signed by some of the team in 96 or 97...has LONG since faded by many rainy games) in my street facing bedroom windows.
                    Friday and Saturday...nothing much.
Game day woke up and prepared. Got my new Roosters jersey on, red white and blue boardies, got the flags down from my window to take to them game, printed out tickets.
Drove to Bexley deep into Dragqueen territory to pick up a Roosters supporting friend, while listening to the NSW Cup game.
Caught the train to Lidcombe and watched the NYC game at the Lidcombe hotel with a few beers. Put a bet on for Perrett first try/Anasta CC Medal double.
Caught the train to Olympic park. Had hopes and dreams trampled. Went to a party afterwards and got absolutely shitface drunk.

Oh...I forgot to mention...I ate leftover butter chicken for breakfast. I feel I have to take responsibility for the loss

Seriously though... Amazing day and amazing week. Loss aside, which i attempted to wipe from my memory with a lethal combination of vodka, beer and scotch, I will never forget the leadup.

As we couldn't get tickets we decided to spend some money to watch the game at home. Bought some streamers and got some grog an nibblies. Put the streamers up in the lounge room during the day and the kids put up the Roosters team shot out of the paper. They then proceeded to desicrate (?) the Dragons team photo with little snippets of abuse.

My daughter made a bracelet, necklace and badge for her baby doll to get him in Rooster mode.

I got myself a small esky and whacked some beer and ice in at and had it right beside me for the game. This will now be my GF tradition.

The saddest thing was I bought some "One Eyed Rooster" port up at the Hunter Valley in 01 - 2 bottles - and promised I would not open either of them unless we won the GF. Well the next year, one down. Still got the other in the cupboard.....

Next morning with the money left over we went out for breakfast with my Rooster T-Shirt on....

It was a pretty good weekend except for one small detail....

Well done to all who got out there and lived the RWB! Sounds like we all had a great time leading up to and during the game (for some part!).

Did anyone else see the guy in bay 145 in the RWB body painted jersey?

                        Absolutely legendary show of support!

Decorated the house and car during the week. Went down to the street party at Bondi Beach on Saturday. Paced the house ALL morning on Sunday before heading out to the game
