  • Gold Coast game was our grand final

That's where we peaked. Our performance against them was sublime, after that we were spent. We'll be a much better side next year, that's when I'll be excited.

i dont agree, i think we played at about 3rd or 4th gear max in that game, and cruised through, maybe we carried a bit of that complacency through to the gf, but i dont think we were spend

I don't agree either...I'm still of the opinion we could've had a better chance on a level playing field...or lost fair & square without so many blatant mistakes by the officials out on the field responsible for the rules of the game being implemented...

I would love to have another crack at them on a dry track with Hayne and Phillips as refs.

Agree - reckon it would be a way different outcome. Wouldn't have minded losing if it had been purely due to our boys playing poorly but to have such shocking decisions kind of spoils it. Trying to suck it up though!!!! Lots of fun in the weeks leading up to the GF so not all bad

            So it was.

But you, me and Jesus in the corner over there had no idea it was and how Sunday was going to pan out.

We peaked against Parramatta months ago.

Interesting point Cogburn, it was a demolition of the GC. Having said that, I think the GF was a different kettle of fish. Tough conditions (the weather, the refs and a better opponent).

Our first try was a bit dodgy... sure the reffing had flaws, but end of the day a lot of the bad calls went our way. We had 58% possession or something crazy like that in the first half. We played our best and still couldn't score against them enough times. To cap it off, Carney had a shocker with regard to kicking, so the dragons were already a try ahead once they had scored 2 tries.

It was a mixture of superior skills, bad luck and bad weather that beat us. End of the day it was a GF... if you can't play well in rain then you don't deserve to be the premier. Let's just focus on smashing them next year! We have a whole off-season to improve our game, develop the young blokes and possibly sign another player in a weak area of our game (after making the GF I'd say our club/coach will be quite attractive to high-performers.)

                    ROOSTERS 2011!!!! BIG YEAR AHEAD!!!
