Minichiello's form this year definitely warrants him staying on for at least a few more years.
I don't think he should either. At least not yet.

What I was referring to is that with Perrett's slowish turn, then you need your fullback to be quick to nullify that weakness, which is something Leilua doesn't have. Which rules out Leilua at fullback.

In regards to Mini's retirement, I said this earlier:
"Should Naughton, Linnett, Carney and co all fail to live up to what we expect, and we are struggling to unearth talent, then I would be making bee lines for the likes of Justin O'Neill, Daniel Vidot and Josh Hoffman in 2012 when they come off contract. I reckon 2012 or 2013 will be Mini's last year."

When Perrett was fullback, we lacked that support play in the middle..

FFS - Even Jordan Tansey did a better job of that than Perrett..
I was referring to the fact that Mini drops it 99/100.

We will not get any of these.. The Broncos will find a way to keep Yoh Yeh, if Duffie leaves it will be to join the Bronco's.. Can't see us getting Topou and there is no way Earl will come back after letting him go.

I think his speed is actually quite good. Where he seems to struggle IMO, is turning and chasing. He is seriously susceptible to kicks in behind him, as well as turning and chasing in defense, but when he is in the clear with the ball in hand or chasing down a kick his is quite fast.
I accept Perrett adds value with his work rate, etc. However, he is not quick enough to worry the opposition defence. This means Carney doesn't have the same luxury of someone like Scott Prince who can mesmerise the opposition with the threat of a kick ahead if they commit defensively, or use his footwork and passing skills to create opportunities if the opposition hangs back.

Until we get some genuinely speedy wingers we will always be vulnerable to losing to any team that just slides across and marks Carney and SKD out of the game. Case in point is our loss to the sharks.

A foot race between Perrett and Luke Covell would have been worth the admittance fee alone...

Good point Dice. I think Sammy is great and should maintain one wong position but a real speedster on the other side would enhance our attacking options greatly. Linnet perhaps? I'm not sure as he has showed so much potential in the centres.

                  J. Carney is lightning... I'm not sure that he would be able to maintain over long distances, but he is explosively quick over about 40 metres. By that stage he is gone. There is a highlights package on youtube if you want to have a look?

To be honest I don't know too much about him. I understand he is coming back from a serious injury. Fingers crossed that he recovers and is the man we need.

Have a look at the highlights package... I love him. He is a little nugget of gold.

Will do mate. Sounds like a very exciting prospect and possibly another awesome attacking option.

Carney 2 is going to be good I think.

BJ would be my replacement centre if Linnett or SKD are injured, or else 2nd row/bench for the balance of the team. He is a Falou type of player and killed it in centre v Bulldogs then was never really given a good shot of it afterwards. It just wouldn't seem right to push Linnett/SKD out of the centres though, it's a selection headache for sure. A few players good players will have to miss out next year, despite what people say I reckon we have awesome depth in all positions, it just seems like some strange selections are made by Smith sometimes such as Koops, Jones, Ford etc
