Once again you prove that you are not a roosters supporter.

Anyone who watched him play every week would never say that.

That's the first time I've ever seen the term "overrated" associated with Michael Crocker.

You've either said that to stir Roosters fans or you simply don't know as much as you claim to.

his tough guy persona far outweighed his footballing ability

did nothing with the ball, just a worker in defence, and ill-disciplined

          was thrilled when he left

take Flannery over him any day

He has played about 2 games in 2 years.. Remember he was going to the UK superleague because his body could not handle the NRL 2 years ago. How on earth could he handle it now? Only Souths were so stupid to sign him on decent coin..

And so my post GF sulk is endeth, I have renewed my Chookpen membership and have returned to the forum.

I caution 'Remember the ghost of Paul Vautin's career at Bondi!'

The ONLY reason to sign Mick would be as a veteran to lead our very young pack around. But Myles and Bwaif have that role well covered.
It's scientifically impossible for Easts to be in Souths' shadow when there's daylight between them and us.

Disagree totally. We made three straight grand finals off the back of a dominant forward pack of which Crocker was a key part.

It's also an unfair comparison with Flannery - Flanno was a utility back who occasionally filled in in the back row. Both key members of our "2000 brigade" but totally different players.

The only time Crock was over rated was when he played 5/8 for Australia!

But to the point of the thread - no, he is passed his best and not worth what he is reportedly being paid - $300k next year according to todays paper due to a backended contract!!!!

Definitely not how I remember it but I'm sure the numbers exist somewhere to prove one of us wrong. I couldn't be assed digging up the stats to argue with you about that.

This is off track though, Crocker was always worth what we paid him and the wraps that he got when he was with us.

There was a time when I would have had Mick Crocker in a heartbeat. That was yesterday, we got the best out of him but like every forward, he has a used by date. You get freaks like Civoneciva and Price but most forwards are finished by 30.

Flannery started his career at five eighth in 2000 against the Northern Eagles at Bluetongue Stadium.

Under Murray (2000/01) he played five eighth, wing, centre, fullback and even halfback (against Penrith on a Monday night in 2001).

When Ricky arrived, he moved him to the backrow (mainly off the bench) and he stayed there until he left for the UK at the end of 2006.

So I guess most of his career with the Roosters was as a utility forward although he started his career as a utility back.

My recollection was Flannery made his debut in the backs. I think fullback actually
