1975 for obvious reasons. Although, I was only 8 at the time so my memory of the season is pretty vague.
1980 was great. Can remember beating Parra 6-0 in one game and also have fond memories of listening to the hiding we gave Wests in the final
1981 another really good year but the ending left a very bitter taste in the mouth. Still shitty with Kerry Boustead who bombed a certain try at a crucial stage in the final against Newtown by diving into the in goal with an outstretched arm which went over the sideline meaning no try.
1987 after years in the doldrums, we should have made the GF, but a brutal Major Semi cost us big time.
2002 the last 10 weeks or so...what a ride!!
2003 we should have won it but the weather conspired against us.
2010 what a terrific year. I had supporters of other teams asking me if I was shattered after the Gf and I can put my hand on my heart and say I wasn't. It was an incredible and totally unexpected ride.
In summary, I would have to say 2002. 1975 was great but I was too young to remember much of it. But I look back at the old YouTube footage of that 75 team and they scored some amazing tries. What a team they were.
After many years of ordinary performance 1987 made Roosters fans happy again. As someone pointed out earlier, the semi against Manly was one of the more brutal games I've seen. We definitely had the edge off us for the Canberra match the following week.
Theres so many great seasons it's hard to nail one down. These are my favourites anyway.
1993 - The 1st year I started watching Easts. I was 11 at the time and the first game I watched was the Roosters vs the Bears and it was a 10 all draw. Then there was a game at the WACA against Canberra when Salvo went down and Freeman took over the captaincy. I remember Brendan Hall playing fairly well that season apart from his goal kicking and Nigel Gaffey was awesome, along with Rocket Rod Silva.
1996 - Fittler, Walker, Lam, Ricketson, Lowrie, Hermansson, Jorgenson, Sing, Iro, Cleary... We Finally had a star studded lineup and Gould was in his 2nd year so had already built some groundwork in 1995. We won our first 10 games and suddenly we were a genuine threat in any game.
Just have so many great memorys from this year, like the game against the Broncs on Monday night. Jorgo's try and his aeroplane, Junees awesome kick and regather and then Gees stuff up and Matt Sing running up and rubbing Gee's head.
2000 - The game against Newcastle stands out here when we made it through to our first Grand Final since 1980. 16-2 down, Phillips great try, Freddies intercept off Johns, Cross scores, and then Freddies wicked pass out to Sing, inside to Hegarty and he scored. What a game. Pity we didnt stand up in the GF other than Luke Phillips who was robbed of the Clive Churchill Medal in my opinion. The man was a machine!
2002 - For obvious reasons. We had a pretty injury riddled season at the start of the year and it was unfortunate that the year we won, Ryan Cross broke his leg.
One game that stands out was against the Broncos and Justin Hodges returned to suncorp and played the best game hes ever played for the Roosters. He was in everything.
2003-2004 - Kind of a merged memory during these two years. We were clearly the best side of the comp both years yet we lost the big ones when it counted. I loved these years and they are spoiled by two games that will haunt me forever. Fittler deserved a better send off than that Bulldogs game. The thing is, I reckon we were an even better team in 03-04 than 2002, when we did win.
2008 - Freddies first full season as coach and we made it to the top four. Even though Brian Smith has done a wonderfull job for us and his apointment has obviously been the best decision, I think people forget that Freddy got us into the top four the season before. I remember the game against Parra when Braith and Pearce put on a deadly show of skill and class.
Pity we started to fall off the pace at the end of games. It sucked bigtime.
2010 - From last to Grand Finalists, need I say more.

2 wins over the "best" pack, plus the tigers final, add in the Broncos and Bulldogs games where blatant cheating still couldn't stop us. Then we had the grounding of the Hayne plane.
To fall 40 minutes short was dissapointing but i can't remember a season in my years where I have been so emotionally charged after so many outstanding wins.
2002 Will always go down as our first GF victory that I have seen in my (short) lifetime. That said, we had an awesome team, and I was sorta expecting big things.
2010 Was amazing because it came from nowhere. New coach... Carney... bunch of young blokes playing up from the Jets/NYC (I include JWH in that by te way... first full NRL season.) At the start of the season I put $100 on Carney as Dally M @ $51 (I never bet.) My greatest hope is that we would make the 8. Weeks out from the finals I could see us missing them. The rest is history. We eventually lost to a star-studded side that was expected to win all season, but such is life. We beat #2, #3 and #4 in the finals against the odds... I seriously cried after each game. The Dragons can be happy that they didn't choke, but I think as a Roosters fan I got far more value for money out of this season than them if I look at all the heart wrenching victories we had, with a largely untested squad, who could have been happy just to make the 8, but dug deep to bring us 1 step forward every week.
