A quick note for everyone, at 5:30pm today on FOX sports 3 they are showing Roosters vs st george 2000. I think we win this one as 2000 was a very good year for us.

Some things never change, robbed by Steve Clark after he sent a forward pass ruling up to the video ref who sent it back Refs Call, Clark decides to rule forward pass to keep the home crowd happy. 11 - 4 penalty count to Saints too!
Yeah can't believe they lost that one after leading 16-0, then again didn't know it was played in the gong and that steve clark was the ref. Dragons seem to be our bogey team for a while now. The penalties against the Roosters in that game was steep, interesting how things have not changed in 10 years.
Dunno if we'd be interested... Can you poach a player from the free agents market? Just not our style if we cant
Classic! Post of the day!
I personally think Tahu is gaawne as an elite player.
I also think he has severe mental & anti-social issues that i think would be counter-productive to the culture that is building through the club.Ours is the youngest team in the comp,& i really don't want a person with Tahu's problems disrupting the groups development.....We are on the cusp of something big & i don't want ANYTHING to disrupt us!
I see his best footy as being 2 or more years ago,& i struggle to see any real positives in signing him....even on a Newtown contract.
Having said that,IF we do sign him i will have to accept it as i will have no choice in the matter.Plus after what Smith did with SKD's game last year i am willing to trust his judgement on Tahu.
at the right price on an incentive based deal, why not. what the guy has done wrong, although unsavory isnt in the same category or as severe as the deeds done by other players so in terms of public image i dont think he is really overly damning or damaging to the club.
Put it this way, the primary fear for us is that we dont have the right sorts of players/resources to cover our left edge. You are looking at a dual international who is looking for a fresh start and is a specialist left sided player who can play centre and wing. I say perfect! If coach smith thinks tahu fits the build then my fears surrounding his attitude are nullified as smith is a very good judge of that sort of thing. Worst comes to worst we end up no worse off. I say sign him. Could turn out the best risk we ever take.
Btw, although i would agree he wasnt electrifying last season, playing outside the worst halves in the comp bar souths halves doesnt do outside backs any favors. With carney, pearce and anasta giving him plenty of ball, his power and speed could be absolutely breathtaking and not to mention his experience which is one of the few things our side probably doesnt have. Dont forget jason ryles. Comparable attitude and imo, in even worse form than tahu considering he had been in the UK and therefore virtually already given up on his career and just looking to collect a healthy pension.
PARRAMATTA are yet to notify controversial star Timana Tahu of their decision to move on.
There is no doubt the Eels will sack their star centre but formal notification failed to arrive yesterday, as expected.
After Newcastle coach Rick Stone virtually ruled out his club signing Tahu, there were suggestions yesterday he may link with the Roosters.
However, club recruitment manager Peter O'Sullivan said: "We couldn't afford him. That won't be happening."
Parramatta CEO Paul Osborne hopes to finally sort out the Tahu saga this week.
I am not convinced and he would have to be cheap.
The problem is it seems his head is messed up, if he doesn't straighten that out then he should be pissed off, but then with someone with problems upstairs its not a good thing to do to them

Todd Carney was no where near the risk Tahu is.
Remember Carney was exiled to QLD and was put in a situation to get his head in a better place. Tahu has not had this luxury

Looks like it won't be happening lol
I think he'll take a contract where he can get one. And if it's between us and some other teams offering a small contract, why would you not pick the roosters who are a premiership team and have the coach that got the best out of you.
Tahu is a ****ing mystery, who knows and who cares where he is going..
Parra reckon they're keeping him, the Roosters reckon they are going to get him, his whole family moved to Newcastle and he has been spotted with Rick Stone and Knights players but yet they rule out theyre not signing him..
