He will be a decent back up hooker option, nothing more

          Defensive hooker?

Seemed like an attacking player to me.

We needed a backup hooker and we signed one. There was no point in signing a young hooker as Watts and Friend will (hopefully) fill the hooking role in the future.

Piggy will be fat and unfit, but he always has been and always played OK.

He will play 15-20 minutes per game max and be a backup for Friend. Hopefully he will give us the odd 'push over' try when we are near the goal line.

            Good signing.

last i read he had in fact lots a fair bit of weight while in the ESL

it makes sense signing him due to the Watts injury.. but i did lol a bit this morning when catching it first thing on the Facebook news feed

a decent signing given the circumstances

Any one know the term of the signing?? Tigers were offering 3 years. I hope we did not offer him 3. Should have been a one year deal...

What I've heard from the redhead is 100,000 and game payments for one year.

                        Squished defenders into submission.

In all seriousness, while I was never much of a Piggy fan, he has his usefulness if we keep him only for a year. Jake still needs support I feel, and Riddell is both experienced enough and capable enough to provide it. Watts being out makes me sad, but we have make do with what's available. Appropriate signing, though its true success is pending.

Well piggy may not be the Biggest name signing for the Roosters, but he has just come of a championship year with Wigan, so he comes into the club as a premiership winner.

he has experience, which someone like jake needs, plus he is a very acomplished goal kicker.

Yes he is pudgy, but us big fellas need an Icon in the game !

Well said. I really like that fact about how he is coming off a championship year with Wigan, he must of had a fair contribution towards that.

I think you are correct that he will play 15-20 per game at hooker, but then imo he will play about an extra 10 minutes in the back row.

Looks like Benny Jones will keep his parking spot at Henson Park.

                                Welcome home PIGGY.
