That could have been before we offloaded Benny Jones to NQ. He was on decent money for a young bloke.

I don't know everything that's going on, but I'm pretty sure FPN is not on the Dogs' radar. Like all players coming off contract, they would speak to all clubs through their managers.

The Dogs are talking to a prop at the moment, and if the deal hasn't already been done, then it will be close to. This is for next season though.

Another prop, Hodgson, Tolman, Armit & Eastwood is already pretty gun. Guess you can always move Eastwood to the backrow when Ryan retires

Still a spot for him this season, but he needs a big season this season to get a new contract. Most of the pack are playing for new contracts given the depth we have.

                    Would it really matter???

I doubt it is true but people are forgetting Boyd Cordner if fit will play 1st grade this year

It's likely Hodgson will retire, we thought he might this year. Eastwood is a backrower, so we're pretty light on for established props that can lead the pack. Who knows what's happening with Tandy, besides the guy they are talking to is ahead of all of them and you would happily replace any of the incumbents.

Hodgson - tough but getting old and slow
Tolman - young, looks the goods, will need time to recover from the injury
                        Armit - don't rate him
Eastwood - all class, could play 13,12,11,8 or 10, he's that good he could probably cover 5/8 if Roberts gets busted again, they've got no one else.
Tandy - will he be able to play? if so is very solid
                        Millington - ??

In 2012 - Idris - big enough, but is he tough enough. Don't laugh, remember the great Ruben Wiki!

Doggies definitely need a quality prop.

Really? Hodgson isn't that old for a prop, definitely still NRL standard in my opinion.

I didn't include Tandy because atm the outcome doesn't look too good but he'll be a big bonus if he is found innocent.

Unless the prop is Adam Blair I've got a fair idea who you're talking about and you're going to have some competition he does want out of where he is at though and is looking to head Sydney.

Armit is so underrated; he comes off the bench for them barely ever loses the ball or gives away a stupid penalty, makes plenty of metres and is a solid defender.

He is to them what Conn was to us this year except to a higher standard. Every club needs these type of players.

Big question mark over Idris for me. This will be a breakthrough year for him where he really takes ownership of where he should play. This year the Dogs have the impact in the backrow, as well as outside backs with pace. So Idris will need to take ownership of a position.

I find him frustrating and haven't made up my mind whether I like him as a footballer. Besides, there is speculation he wants out of Sydney to head back to Newcastle.

I'm a fan of Armit, really like him for the reasons you have mentioned. He is one of those guys that only the people who see him every week appreciate and other club supporters "don't get". I much prefer to see Armit start with someone like Paea off the bench.

Agree about Tandy, can't say too much about that. Mainly because I don't know the facts and I have only heard stuff.
