I understand how you feel after how BJ went on the wing in the finals. However i can see the benefits of having BJ as a winger after having a preseason training there under his belt. Time will tell and i will back BJ to be a success on the wing, as i get the feeling Brian will be starting the season with BJ there. Brian can see the potential there, and as you know he is no fool!

Having a preseason trainign under his belt and also having his knee back to normal he should have his confidence up therefore allowing to play like he was post injury..Like a rooky of the year conetnder!

Anyone that puts on that move against Parra last year has talent. The stepping, acceleration and speed was Jennings like. Hope to see him in more space like that this year... wasn't something I've seen a Roosters player do for a while..

Foxtel IQ is a pain in the butt to copy from. Which is why I always record the footy games which I like to keep straight to my DVD player's hard drive instead and then back up to CD later (just in case the hard drive packs it in). Finally got around to putting all our wins from last season onto CDs over the Xmas/New Year period.

Linnett is a myth. Obviously you guys didnt watch the GF because he was caught out in defense numerous times.

His attack has not been consistent enough for me to rate him.

He will be replaced in 2012 with either an outside purchase or the likes of BJ or Blair.

Maybe!,but remember SKD before wasn't rated highly until 2010!

Difference is the SKD was always destined to go on to bigger and better things after excelling all through the junior grades. Linnett didnt. If he did, Wayne Bennett would not have let him go. Simple.

Bennett already had Cooper & Scott + Emmett who he rates highly since his Broncos days. You're reading too much into him not being re-signed, Bennett is calculated in every decision he makes and more often than not talent isn't the only deciding factor. It's like saying he never rated Wally Lewis or Petero Civoncieva, his squads are always well balanced and I get the feeling Linnett was already the type of player he thought he had in Emmett.

3/4's on big money are overrated imo, Linnett's the perfect centre to balance out our current squad with a lot of young 'stars'. He's not a liability, has strong defence and has proven to be a handy finisher. Remember we do have a salary cap and he's never going to command big money.

Bennett let him go because he was playing behind Gasnier and Cooper, with Stanley/JMorris next in line for the spot. When Gasnier was trying to renegotiate a deal, Morris jumped ship, thinking Gasnier was staying.

Had Gasnier not left for a bit, there would have been zero opportunities for Linnett in first grade, and zero reason for Bennett to keep a talented player wasting away in reserve grade.

Clearly he's MILES ahead of some of our other outside backs that have been introduced into first grade. Look at the past few years: Sisi Waqa, Sandor Earl, Sonny Tuigamala, Brent Grose, Jordan Tansey, etc. etc. I reckon he'll be a much better centre than Soliola, and probably Sa (although who knows what he could have done with a better head on his shoulders).

Linnett has all the attributes. Remember, that was his FIRST season in top grade. He showed promise in both attack and defence, with good speed, and more good reads than bad. Give him a chance before you write him off.

SKD was good in the lower grades, so was linnet at the dragons.bennet is at the dragons short term and needed the cash to sign n resign the existing roster and a few fill ins. remember the mistakes SKD had in his game up till 2010. who would have resigned him if that form remained? linnet is solid all round, his best attribute is speed to burn, you can't teach that!
