Actually Trew, Politis getting involved in contract negotiations has lead to a number of monumental fark ups recently so ToK's point is valid. Webster even mentions Mason and O'Merley. If you're so sure Smith is going to fail, you should at least grant him the opportunity to fail on his own merits without the interferance from the board regarding recruitment and retention.

That's a massive assumption to make about something you don't have all the facts on... seriously dude just take a step back before throwing around such accusations.

In all seriousness, why do you continue to post frequently on this site?

You clearly don't like most, if not all posters and don't converse with anyone that doesn't end in slanging insults back and forth. You say more complimentry things about other teams, Souths included, than you do about this one. You make pretty big claims about club immortals and captains without any sort of proof. And they're not opinionated claims like "I think etc" they're "so and so is a *****" like you're getting ready for everyone to judge and stone them to death. You defend the telegraph even when there are articles that clearly attack the club and are fabricated, and above all else if you don't care whether people believe what you say as you have stated over and over again why do you keep replying to everyone with the need to say it.

A level of unbias and trying to think differently is one thing and there are quite a few posters who do that, but you come across as a genuine shit stirrier sent by the telegraph to post stuff and get a reaction so they have something to write about.

Chickadee TOK is right about Anasta been a cash man.He came to our club for that sole reason .He stated that when he signed it was the business scope and financial futures the club had to offer ( not in those words) but Im sure some one here can resurrect those interviews .
I wouldnt knock the truth.
For my money he has been on massive bucks for 12 years and he should be greatfull he can stay in Sydney with a pay cut or what ever.
Now I remember quite clearly last year he shopped him self around and the club came back to him and said they would extend his contract at a certain time .Fine je wants it now -you know the story for some one to play that out publicly is wrong and he is trying to shame the club .
I say **** off dipstick you ungreatfull prick.

He reminds ,me of twp other players -Wingy and Finch thats all ive got to say and if you cant work that out -one was overated and the other lived off one field goal.

I didn't really mean that in regards to anything to do with Braith it was just a build up after waching all the posts he (? I assume) makes.

But regarding Braith I'm just dissapointed. I dislike that it's played out in the media and think it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. However I also think if you want a captain that has had to deal with media regarding this club good and bad head on like drug cultures, and reports of disharmony when he fronts up and defends the club then you have to take the good with the bad. Personally the willingness to talk to the media so much is one thing I less than dislike about Braith.

My opinion is still that this whole thing stinks, but I'm not jumping on any bandwagon. The club has every right to hold off on negotiations and it's quite a smart thing to do trying to preserve a future given the stuff ups of the past. But it's also not as black and white from Braith's side either. If you're going to wait til the season starts to be offered a contract when you're concentrated on the current series and clubs are already sealing their deals off for the next year it's going to limit your options massively if the current deal doesn't work out. Nothing directly quoted in that article really makes the club or Braith look bad, it's the media spin put on it.

Like I said I'm dissapointed, but I'm not blowing a gasket about it. Being a bit of a media shit head is no worse than crapping in a hall way or disgracing the club with drug use. This is the same bloke that leads from the front, played on with a broken nose, a groin injury, kicked us that field goal and told Carney along with a few others what a wanker he is on the drink helping him have that awesome season for us without any drama.

The biggest thing out of all this is trying to appease the big people that it's pissed off and deal with the rest of it privately.
