hi all,
im new to this site i only heard about in the daily telegraph, this Anasta saga is bullshit, the guy played out of his skin last year. i think steve noyce and nick politos are trying to get rid of him so they will have enough money for sonny bill williams, think about it he is expected to return in 2012 if braith aint there thats 450k they can throw at him, they wont accept the pay cut cause it still aint enough to buy sbw and keep anasta.

If they buy SBW, we will lose most of our roster. Any club that gets SBW have to pay the Bulldogs $1 million!

The latest rumour doing the rounds involves the South Sydney Rabbitohs releasing five-eighth John Sutton to join the English Super League, allowing Anasta to join the Rabbitohs in Redfern.
The NRL world has been a buzz the last few days with news that the Sydney Roosters do not want to extend captain Braith Anasta’s contract at the end of 2011.
Indeed, the Roosters have been actively shopping for teams to take Anasta off their hands for this oncoming season.
Anasta’s experience and consistency could be well used at the Rabbitohs beside halfback Chris Sandow and if the rumour does end up being true, this could be another major coup for the Redfern club this off-season

SBW can't play for another NRL club before 2013 without the dogs permission. I doubt the dogs will give him the ok to sign with us in 2012 so I think your theory is wrong
Though I signed the petition, I and I'm sure most of the people who signed it, signed it because we wanted to show my support to Braith and ask the club to do everything they can to keep him and not try and sell him out to other clubs. I would hate us to lose some up and coming superstar because they just through money at Braith but at the same time I would hate to lose Braith because the club didn't try to reach a reasonable deal with Braith. I don't think the club is disloyal, but I do think they are very stupid in trying to sell him!
The bolded is what is wrong with all the whinging and petitions, Braith and his manager have shopped themselves around, not Easts, Easts refused to release him for this year, they could have freed up 450k for this season by letting him go to the cowboys, if they wanted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They have held firm and forced Anasta and his agent to play their hand, the rest is up too them.
Accept what is on offer, or try and get better.
None of us are privy to what the offer or amount is.

Well done Easts
I think the club and Braith need to try and work out a contract. It doesn't have to be official or anything, but the club does need to say right this is the length of the contract but there will be a paycut due to salary cap pressure. They then can work out how much to offer Anasta. It's then Anasta's decision from there. I just think the club would be very stupid to let him slip away without even making an offer. As far as what party was trying to find a club to buy Anasta, I was just going from what has been said. There is obvious salary cap pressure but the way they are trying to ease it is wrong, try and formulate a deal that will benefit the future of the Roosters as far as salary cap and keeping players go and if Anasta doesn't accept then it will be very disappointing.
I think that its good that this is out in the open now prior to the season commencing. Imagine the distraction if this happened around July/August as the competition starts to hot up.
