  • When Anasta left the doggies

Does anyone see a pattern with Braith and Willett playing out contract negotiations through the media? Uncle Nick hasn't stood for this before, so he is treading a very thin line.

Anasta, Mason and Williams reject Bulldogs' offers

Noad says Anasta will stay at Bulldogs

    How much is that Doggie?

Gallop should help save Anasta: Kenny

You cant blame him for tying to get the best deal he can, let hope he shows some patience and some common sense.

If that's the case then you can't blame the Roosters for trying to save some coin. Let's not forget that Anasta and his manager were sniffing around N.Q last year after his move to lock and subsequent rise in form. Why? Because he wanted a big money offer to throw on the negotiating table when it came time to talk contracts with Easts. He played the game with them and now they're playing the game with him.Good on them i say. At the end of the Day i support Easts, not Braith Anasta or any other individual!

Exactly it goes both ways, I agree with you mate Easts always first. I love Braith as a player but if he has to make way to sign all the young blokes then so be it if we cant squeeze him with a pay cut.

I suspect it has already played out. Anasta has gone with an all-in bluff against Uncle Nick's pocket aces.

Maybe he will follow Gower's footsteps to Europe. Does Greece have a Rugby Union team?

I'm just going to say this, no man, no matter how good a player or a bloke, is bigger than a league club.

Anasta is no Brad Fittler, no Dave Brown, no Dally Messenger. He is not bigger than the Roosters.

If he wants to play hardball with Uncle Nick then he can leave any time he wants.

                        Here's an urban Doggie Legend.

Mason and Anasta were both renegotiating their contracts at Belmore.

Mason, it was understood, had agreed to terms with the Sharks. As far as the Dogs were concerned it was all done and dusted.

Anasta was in final negotiations with Noad and Folkes and it looked like he was staying. A time and place was set up for the formalities. At the eleventh hour, literally, very late the night before. Mason rings Folkes and tells him he wants to stay if the Dogs would match the Sharks offer. Folkes being a forwards man, found the money, except for one thing.

There now wasn't enough money to meet Anasta's demands.

                        Mason stays, Braith goes.

Three years later, Mason arrives at Bondi much to the absolute disappointment of Braith and one other player. So much so that the 3rd player tries to get out of his Roosters contract.

                        An urban legend ....
