Perrett would be a great option to take over from Mini at the back!........................just shit stirring!

Another name i will throw up is Kurtley Beale from the Waratahs. He had an outstanding year last year for the tahs and wallabies. It would be nice to get one back on rugby!

All i know is that the Roosters really have to get Mini's replacement right, and not stuff it up like they did when replacing Freddie.

That's right and he'll be playing for Newtown for the rest of the year i'd imagine.
I hope we put him into our top 25 in 2012, great future ahead of Luke, lots of potential.

            Interesting.

He is a freak, and has expressed an interest in playing league before.

But he'd come with a massive price tag.

            Very, very talented though.

I think Canberra is worth looking at as they have produced some real quality fullbacks over the last few years in Dugan and Zillman.

Hayden Hodge would be one to take a very close look at from Canberra

I would take a gamble and sign Uate as a replacement for Mini.

Brilliant broken field runner, but terrible under the high ball and lacks the overall skill level to be a top class fullback. The Raiders SG Ball Fullback (Jack Ahearn) is a better overall player than Hodge in my opinion.

I'm with Heart & Soul. Kurtley Beale would be a star. He was a league player growing up, only switching to rugby in is teens when he got the scholarship to Joeys. He's a perfect modern day fullback who can act as a playmaker as well. Yes, he would cost money, but he might be interested in switching after the Rugby World Cup.

Kurtley Beale is a naturally gifted player, but word is that he is a lazy trainer and needs the right environment to excel.

I would be weary to spend big money on such a player.

I would say that would be a key thing, once the world cup is over, that is a big carrot gone for Kurtley to stay with Australian rugby. He will cost a fair bit, but the salary cap will go up in 2013, and the NRL may help us in getting a star player from another code. He certainly is a big talent, before 2010 his attitude to training was not great, but he did a massive amount of maturing last year!

Ideally i would love nothing more than for a current young Roosters player (like Towers) to step up big time to take over from Mini. But we can't afford to have rose colored glasses on and settle for one of our own unless one really steps up to the plate cause we really need a gun in the key position of fullback!

I admire what Kurtley Beale has done in RU especially in the last 12 months.
But do you really think he has the defensive balls for an NRL fullback.

I know there are lots of fullbacks that didn't like khunt and Lockyer etc but I would really prefer one that can muscle up in defense

I reckon Kurtley's defence is easily good enough, now. 12 months ago it wasn't, but he's improved a lot.

That word is very old, I'm afraid - although he used to be a lazy trainer and have a little too much extra baggage, he's really picked up his work ethic at the Tahs, and is fitter than ever.

There'd be no question marks over his commitment, that's for sure. Watching him go about his work with the Tahs, he looks very impressive.

As you say, Kurtley has come on a heck of a long way in the last 12 months, much like SKD.

Kingbilly refers to if he has the defensive balls for NRL. I believe he has, the way he had to defensively and offensively take on the massive guys of the All Blacks and Springboks really impressed me as that is certainly no easy task!
