In hindsight I blame Smith for not asserting himself...
Cherro corked his knee and the doctor said "probably best to rest mate just incase." Smith agreed and Cherro said "no, I want more game time, I need the practice!!!"
Turned into an ACL rupture. Connected or not I have no idea (I'm not a doctor and have never even met Cherro) but I think it was dumb to play with a corked leg unless it is a grand final or something. Even then all I can think back to is the Titans and the Riff during the last finals. Both played with injured teams. Both ended up getting thrashed and pushing injured players back even further (who saw Scott Prince last night? Yeah the guy in casual clothes sitting it out with an injury...)
I know this is all hindsight...etc, but Smith should have asserted "mate... no... it's a trial and I as the coach have the responsibility to say no because you are injured. You've done well and lets end on a positive note."
Corked leg... what if he got a heamatoma or something and ended up blowing out his quad or something. They should ban pain killing injections IMO... corked leg in lower grades means you are out for a week while it recovers. 1st grade they just pump you up with juice and let you play.
