Cut Symonds and J Carney from the bench (have J Carney and Leilua fighting it out for that wing spot) and add Todd Carney in at five-eighth, and that is the best team we can field.
At full strength:
1. Minichiello (former NSW/Australia rep)
2. Graham
3. Linnett
4. Kenny-Dowall (current NZ rep)
5. Perrett (current NZ rep)
6. T Carney (current Australia rep)
7. Pearce (current NSW rep)
8. Ryles (former NSW/Australia rep)
9. Friend
10. Kennedy
11. Anasta (former NSW/Australia rep)
12. Aubusson
13. Myles (current QLD/Australia rep)
14. Watts
15. Nuuausala (current NZ rep)
16. Hargreaves (current NZ rep)
17. Masoe
18. Leilua
19. Riddell
20. Conn
21. J Carney
Tremendously good team IMO, great balance of experience and youth, plenty of representative class players, and most of the non-representative players are either players with tremendous potential (Aubusson, Linnett, Kennedy, Friend, Watts, Masoe, Leilua, J Carney) or providing experience (Graham, Riddell, Conn).
Graham and J Carney provide outstanding backline depth, Riddell, Leilua and Symonds offer flexible utilities, while Conn and Arona provide strong forward depth.

Based on the team list and speculatively extrapolating, it seems like Smith is sticking Myles with all the work again. Anasta and MAubs don't really do enough as 11s and 12s in terms of the yardage game and the Roosters may get outmuscled again like they did last year in some games."The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

i heard him say somewhere..cant remember where that smithy had him in the 13 but never played lock..to ward off media attention or something
Coach Brian Smith started Anasta in the second row of Saturday's trial loss to the Bulldogs, where the talented ball-player laid on a try for rookie centre Willie Mataka.
"I'll be doing the same thing as last year, Smithy just didn't name me there last year just so we didn't have to put up with all the hoohah and all the garbage that goes with it," Anasta explained.
"When the coach is not naming me in certain numbers because he's worried about the media stuff, that's a good indication (of the media scrutiny)."Last edited by punky rooster; 02-24-2011, 11:49 AM.

"Anasta also revealed that despite being named at lock forward for the bulk of last season, he actually played in the secondrow - but continued to be named at lock to ward off media scrutiny."
