Yep, he was a great runner of the ball in open space ,he has scored about twenty of those in his time.

I vividly remember watching that try live and when he throws in the big left foot step on about the 20 I thought he'd gone too early

But Joe was good enough to get there

scored a similar try where he ran around Gary Jack like he was nailed to the ground in a Test in the UK

He also set up a cracking try with a similar run, eventually scored by Steve Georgallis at Brookvale in 1989.

                    I don't remember that try v Manly!

17 pairs of hands (I think)

                    tremendous

and I've never screamed as loud as I did when Fitzy grabbed that intercept, which happened one or 2 tackles after Mini made a great try saver

                    big turnaround

                    Go Fitzy!

A couple of years ago there was a Joe Lydon high light reel on youtube had all those tries plus plenty of them in the old dart ..looked for it but its not up there anymore.

There was also a Paul Vautin highlight reel from his days at the Roosters, it only consisted of his backside walking off the field after his last hame for us.

Remember it too, it was a Saturday arvo game on the ABC and that try was the matchwinner.
