Anything over 300k for SKD is highway robbery.

I too would think he would sacrifice a few dollars to stay at the club which turned him from the laughing stock of the NRL to a respectable footballer. However, I wouldn't begrudge him if he chased big dollars at another club.


I would be pretty pissed off if the club folded to pressure tactics and paid overs for him.

I thought we signed him up for this year. Given a go I'd say Carney can do all three and probably surpass him in tackle counts. Just injury prone.

Possibly but probably not - Its the flair factor here and at the moment SKD has tons of it.

Nobody is questioning his ability. If he is worth $400K, what are T. Carney and Pearce worth? You can only have so many players at that price. Three players at $400K is about 30% of your cap. Having said that, in 2013 the cap will likely go up so it would be interesting to see what we offered and what Parra are offering for a long term deal.

SKD should be a top priority.

As Brain said, it has been a long time since we have had a strike centre.

Carney looks talented, but I don't get the extent of the wraps on him. He's a ball of muscle, sure, but he's also all of 5 foot 6, with a history of injuries, and without a season to match SKiD's 2010.

I hope Carney sets the world on fire, but SKD should be a top priority.

I don't mind the club paying him $400-450k a season for a 1 or 2 year deal. But there s no way you can sign a player to a deal that big for 4 years. If he wants a 4 year deal he will have to drop his asking price down to $300-350k a season!!
